Could we have a more clear recognition that we set an alert for the polar ice field? Currently having to refresh the page to get the button to show up, then sometimes I cant tell of I clicked it or not. Just something that acknowledges that a timer has been set would be awesome!

I totally support this. I was actually just about to make a topic here and saw yours :D I have forgotten to check the ice fields so many times. Would be great to have an option to add an alert (like many of the other activities on site, such as the crypts and training), and maybe a countdown clock to show you how many minutes you've got to wait.

Oh, there IS an alert currently. But you have to refresh when you "get lost and have to wait". I do all of them at one time (crypts, decanter, ice fields... etc) so sometimes I end up with 3 or 4 alerts for the ice field because I lose track of what I'm doing. If it could just have a button without having to refresh that actually says the alert has been set, it would be amazing lol.

I see! I was not aware of that as I've never ever seen the button to click to add the alert :P that's frustrating. Making an alert link that could indicate that is been set, plus having a countdown timer would make things so much easier and for better user experience. [edit] I realised now it's cos I've never refreshed the ice fields once I got lost, I just exit the page immediately xD Hmm, it would be great to add the alert link to the bottom of the image on the "got lost" screen. And yes, I see what you mean, clicking the alert link doesn't indicate whether you've set the timer or not. Maybe the page can be changed to show that the timer has been set.

I mentioned this in the usability and random improvements thread a few days ago, so fingers crossed it gets added to the 'sry u lost' screen.

Bug actually fixed this a few weeks back but then it reverted to the needing to refresh. Hope it returns.

Agreed. Hopefully Bug can figure out some way to make it work without breaking the game.

Failing that, it would be really great to have a countdown since its random.

I used to set several alerts too, until someone clued me in on how to tell. When you refresh the page to get the alert - check out the address bar in your browser. Instead of just: https://subeta.net/explore/ice_fields.php - the end bit has the last direction you chose if you haven't set the alert yet. Now I hardly ever set extra alerts.

this is probably why i never do ice fields. I didn't know there was an alert because i always exit after i'm done, i've never refreshed. i think an alert on the last page would be great, hope it comes back to stay

I mentioned to on the Layout Changes but he said that forum is only for recent (Mid October) changes. I never noticed the temporary fix you mention . But your post was from September, so it wouldn't have been after the Site changes started. I hope the Polar Ice Field alert problem gets fixed soon too.
