I don't know why but whenever I attempt to update my forum signature... it never really wants to change? It either changes hours later or never takes full effect.

I always make sure I have all the brackets closed and it's not going over the limit... yet it still takes forever or just refuses to update.

I don't know if this really counts as a bug since forum signatures and also forum titles have been like this for a long time, but it is kind of annoying. I'm not sure if anything can be done to make them update more quickly, but for some reason those are two things that seem to have a ridiculously long cache compared to other areas of the site.

It would be nice if they were on maybe a 5 or 10 minute cache or something, but not like an hours later cache...

Caching for forum title changes seems to be better than it was now, I just changed mine and it changed on the forums only a few minutes later.

Signature caching seems to still be pretty long though. I changed one of the forum threads in my signature a while ago (like maybe 30 minutes at least), and on some forums it shows as updated but on others I've viewed recently it's still showing the old one on a cache.

Without doing a hard refresh/clear cache, some threads are still showing my old signature (this is about an hour after I changed it).

And actually, clearing my cache isn't forcing it to show properly for me either. It's still showing the old signature in some places.

[edit]Particularly, it's these two threads that don't seem to be showing the updated signature no matter what I do:

These also happen to be the threads that I changed my signature with, from the first one to the second one. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the issue, or if it's just a coincidence.

[edit] Disregard that first edit, I noticed on another thread I post on frequently that some of my older posts are showing an even older version of the first thread I mentioned before I changed the name of it (which was like a good couple of hours ago now). So the cache seems to be all over the place with regards to what it's showing my signature as, and like I said clearing my browser cache doesn't seem to do anything to fix it. :c

One of the threads I'm noticing the problem on has over 4800 posts. But another thread only has 8 posts, so IDK if it's that.

[edit]Sorry for the mess of information earlier, I was trying to determine if there was any sort of pattern in which posts are showing the correct vs incorrect version of my signature.

It seems like if I make a new post after changing my signature, the new post will show the correct version. However when it comes to older posts, it's all over the place. I've noticed different older posts in different threads showing different versions of the old signature.

It's been several hours now and I've cleared my cache multiple times, but older posts still seem to be stuck and refusing to update.

[edit] Sorry for the excess of pings, but I just discovered that if I edit an old post with the incorrect signature, it will force the post to show the new correct signature version.

My older unedited posts are still stuck showing incorrect versions. This is at almost 3:00 PM Subeta time, so it's been a few hours now.

Thanks for the info! It seems like all of the cached stuff has finally updated itself now, it just takes many hours for it to finally happen instead of a few minutes for most cached things.
