Currently, the Gender Berry is 9m in user shops and that's insane for a R85 item with such a high demand and multiple uses (feed & use). I don't see demand dropping and afaik, the zapper no longer changes pet gender.

I propose a few solutions:

1. Pay X amount of Wizard Tokens and get the wizard to brew and feed your pet a potion to change its gender. That way, changing a pet's gender is available constantly and to everyone, there's another token sink and the Gender Berry can stay a neat food and TC item for pets.

2. Add the Gender Berry to the MC @ 1m a pop. Because I don't want to have to depend on RNGeezus' mercy and insane price fluctuations if I want to change my pet's gender.

3. add the genderswap option back to the zapper to bring berry prices down.

tl;dr- gender berry, like the genderless berry, should be constantly available to users, for a fee.

[edit] A day after making the topic and the price is up to 10m. It now matches the Genderless Berry MC price.

RE: "You can save up for it and it's restockable. It's not unobtainable." The same goes for potions with special-posed colours. That doesn't stop staff from restocking them several times a year via token shop to bring the prices down to normal, while also keeping the potions obtainable from random events, vending, potion lottery and restocking.

It makes absolutely no sense to restrict pet gender changes given the berry's low chance of restocking and the clearly high demand for it.

Also, I don't think Gender Berry prices ever even recovered after the bug with zentus not having any gender icon at all, right after the pet was released.

No support. For comparison, the genderless berry is 10m in the MC, and is the only way to get a genderless pet - It's not an option when you create a pet, so I'm glad it's at least always in stock at the MC. (And it still costs more there than gender berries currently do in user shops.)

Changing a pet's gender already is available constantly and to everyone, just like anybody can buy whatever potion they want from user shops. If there were no gender berries in shop search at all then I might agree with your suggestion.

Gender berries restock in Food Market and it's okay to pay 9m or whatever it is in user shops. It's not an unobtainable item. Just save up for it if you want to change your pet's gender. It's the same as saving up for a potion or anything else for your pets, and honestly 9m is a very doable goal. I don't see any reason to make it cheaper/easier, I mean we would all love if the things we want to buy were cheaper, but part of the game is working towards these goals.

tbh i wouldn't even mind if the berries stopped changing pets' gender and just became regular food, and gender changes could be done from the pets page at a set price

but if that isn't an option deflating the gender berry would also be great :v

@ Bug You can create genderless pets during Masquerade. The genderless berry is not the only option, you can literally wait 'til Masq if you don't feel like cashing 10m out for the already constantly available Genderless Berry. Edit: it costs 50k to create a genderless pet during Masq. And as far as I know, you can elixir it however you see fit after you create it.

idk, I thought it'd be nice to have a site feature constantly and readily available, and tied together into an sP sink and not just an sP transfer between users, as it is now.

sP is a non-issue for me, that's not why I made the suggestion. If I wanted to, I could absolutely go ahead and buy up all the berries in user shops. Also? Genderless berry is 10m in the MC, 9.5m in user shops. If we're going on exclusivity, it's a bit ridiculous to have the exclusive and the restockable genderchange items so close in price.

What's this about being able to adopt genderless pets during masquerade?

@ Mayday I've linked to the news post that implemented it in my previous post. Blackmoon Corporation is only open during Masquerade (around 2 weeks in late March) and allows users to create a genderless cadogre or endeavor for 50k.

I like your suggestions and I would be in support of this idea.

I remember months ago when the Gender Berry was priced at approx. 600k in the shop search. I went on hiatus, came back and was really speechless to see the price in shop search (it was around 10m, a bit crazy for a rarity 85 item). I think it's came down a bit since then and right now it's sitting at 4m, but it will fluctuate. I rather have a fixed priced item in the millionaire shop that is reasonably priced, or even see some released in the TC, or the Wizard potion idea, to keep the price down. It's about accessibility of choice.

The demand will always be there so the price fluctuation will continue. I don't think it should cost so much to switch genders, especially now that's no longer an option with the zapper. I also don't think the gender berry is comparable with the genderless berry, since the options to choose genders are accessible right from the moment you create a pet, whereas genderless pets has been historically rare and harder to obtain... although I do wish there were more options to make a pet genderless/non-binary right from the start, in addition to the Cadogre/Endeavors option that is only accessible during March.

But yes - gender-change options for pets should be constantly available and not subjected to the whim of RNG, luck, consistent demand (Gender Berry is a food + a usable) and a fluctuating market price. I've fed the berry to a pet rather than using it on more than one occasion and had to get another one. Price-wise, not an issue, but I'm taking more berries out of the market when there's already a good demand for them and a lower supply.

I guess I just don't see why there has to be a need to restrict the availability of gender-change items for pets. If they add more options for pet genders, I'd definitely like those to be constantly available as well.
