IM IN TIER 9 AND IM STILL NOT KNOWING SHIT ABOUT BATTLING
my battle pet is GROBLEN, and here is our current set:
I do battle quests, if thats interfere in anything??? help
I'm in tier 13 and I don't know what I'm doing half of the time :/
Around your tier it starts getting a bit more complicated, as it's starting to be more and more important to adjust your weapons to the opponent you're fighting. I'd say the Bludgeon of Mass Extinction is a pretty ok t9 weapon; but there are plenty of tier 8 weapons that have some nice blocks which might be useful for defeating specific opponents.
I'd recommend: Replica Minotaur Knocker (which you already have) - earth block Blessed Trident of the Banished One - wind block Ice King Clawed Gloves - ice block Large Gutting Knife - light block Prodigy Staff - fire block Rapier of Error - does a lot of damage (but has no defense or healing) and for a small chance to freeze and curse. This chance increases as your pet gains more stats.
It's also a good idea to start thinking to invest some SP in getting the Soma Tablets which let you blast one of your opponents weapons. It also has a pretty good chance to freeze and gives you a random curse and blessing. It can be paired together with the recycle blaster so you can take out two weapons of an opponent.
To upgrade your Gorgun, you could try to invest in some other 100% freezer. There are a couple of options: Deluxe Death Shard - is quite expensive at the moment. It only adds a couple of dark icons and some dark defense. I'm not sure it's worth the price. Gate Keeper Collar of Slavery - a lot more affordable (and also available in the battle shop for 60 hard tokens). Deals a few icons, but not a lot. If you have the tokens laying around, it might be a nice small upgrade, although I don't think it's going to have a big impact on the outcome of your battles. Scientist Specs - a bit of an upgrade compared to the Gate Keeper Collar; it deals some damage, blocks some water and light and boosts your stats by a small amount. Not very expensive either. Intricate Energized Helmet - This is a staple which I use in all my sets for t9 and up. It blocks some icons, but that's not why I'm using it. It has a blessing that will protect you from being frozen in the next two turns. This is very useful against freeze happy opponents like General Error; it gives you one turn extra to try and get any other freeze protection blessing to kick in. It can be bought from the battle shop - use the blaster which you can win from Aboxalypse, then upgrade it in the Genetech lab using the various components in the battle shop (Crude Components, Simple Components, Standard Components, Refined Components and Intricate Components). You may not have enough extremely hard tokens yet, but I suggest you start saving them!
As for your current set; I'd remove the Shrine of Appolonia and the Forj Tempered Kusarigama. The bomb is optional; it helps to breeze through battle quests, but for some more difficult challengers you may need the slot for something more usefull like the Soma Tablets or another healer like the Reviver of the Lion. I'm not sure what to think of the Reborn Icewand of Doom. I never had one, so I can't really say how usefull it is in the higher tiers, but I think you're now getting to a point where it might be better to replace it.
As for scrolls, how much AP do you have available? I really like Divine Denizhen on my smaller pets due to the defense it gives, but at higher tiers you'll get your defense from your main weapons mostly, so you can give up some defense on your healing scroll to get one that heals a bit more. Aftershocks is definitely very good, but might be a bit expensive.
Don't forget to mod your weapons with some crystals! I'd recommend Parched Baguette Crystal for the anti-freeze blessing, and Blessing of Natural Armor Tear Crystal for the anti-stealing blessing. What you put on which weapon does depend on the opponent though.
I looked at what opponents my t9 pet has defeated; and I think you'll have pretty good chances against the Recycle Beast for instance. The Recycle Beast deals a lot of earth icons; so using your Minotaur Knocker and maybe something like Purple Spider Squeaky Toy, you should be able to take him down a couple of times.
I also see that you usually only go for 5 wins on the opponents. I'd like to note that you'll receive experience points up until win 10 (which you can use to boost your stats further) and you'll also have a chance to receive battle tokens on any wins. So I'd recommend to try to get 10 wins, and of you need more tokens, try to get some extra wins. You should also be able to beat Fish Breath Jacques, Felibot, Slavam and maybe one or two wins on Wyrmgear.
Wow, that was a HUGE help! You do know what you're doing xD He has 53 AP
I really want th Soma Tablets (saving up for that) and the Blessed Trident of the Banished One but this last one is just... way too rare and overpriced lmao
Ooh, I didn't know the Trident was so rare these days. Might be better to use your SP elsewhere then. When you get to t11, you can always go for the Swashbuckle. It's relatively cheap and blocks wind like the Trident. The Swashbuckle does a bit more damage, blocks more and heals more, while the Trident scales and has a nice blessing.
I love the Soma Tablets, they're definitely worth it!
As for scrolls, hmm. Aftershocks is nice with a 7% heal and a pretty good attack plus some defensive icons. Takes 15 AP but it's a bit expensive. Morosbane is a once per battle scroll that heals 300hp and deals 40 icons of light damage. Takes 15 AP. I wouldn't say it's essential, but might be nice. I wouldn't buy it now, it's loot from one of the Morostide challengers, so better to wait a bit and maybe keep an eye on in October when the price will drop. Soothing Current has a 8% heal, takes up 5 AP and can be made in the secluded shrine. Making it might be cheaper than buying it from the shop search. Terra Focujin is a bit of a step up from the Soothing Current scroll, with 10% healing and a small attack for 8AP. Can also be made from the secluded shrine, but the ingredients might be a bit more difficult to come by. Gift of the Forj is another once per battle scroll. It's quite expensive and takes up 15AP. It deals some damage and defends a bit, and it also heals your pet for 1500hp. For my own tier 8 and 9 pets, that's basically a full heal. It's incredibly useful, but also very pricey.
If you don't want to go for the Aftershocks, I'd try the Terra Focujin or Soothing Current scrolls.
Freezing scrolls can also be very usefull. Psycho Smasher and Shriek of Despair (both once per battle) have the highest freezing chances, so they are generally used for that. Which also means they're very expensive so maybe you want to wait a bit before buying them, and try to win some yourself instead. One Psycho Smasher can be gotten from the achievement to defeat General Error, and Shriek of Despair comes from the Nightlady during Morostide. I don't remember exactly what tier is required to defeat the Nightlady, but maybe you'll have a chance. Perilous Whirlpool is a more budget friendly alternative, though the chance to freeze is lower. Can be made in the secluded shrine and takes up 7 AP. It's also once per battle, so usually people equip more than one. Gale Force is another nice one, it's in the battle shop for 75 exremely hard tokens (maybe get the intricate helmet first if you're low on tokens), takes up 16 AP, can be used once per battle, has a moderate chance to freeze, deals a few icons of damage and heals 299hp. I personally like it because it has a small heal on it. If you want a more permanent chance to freeze, I recommend the Gelaspell scroll. It takes up 18AP, but can be used infinitely, has a decent attack and defense and a 9% chance to freeze. Has no heal, so usually you'll not be using this one. Might be nice against challengers that have healing disabled, though there are definitely other scrolls with better attack or defense. It's challengers loot from one of the Gelatin War challengers, and we might have one coming up soon, so it'll probably drop in price.
Then the defensive staples which everyone recommends (but which I hardly ever use O.o ): Cobalt Eternal & Sancturia Exodin. Both once per battle scrolls, taking up 8AP. They have a huge defense against some icon types, and therefore have the potential to save your butt in a fight. Difficult thing is, you need to guess right when your opponent is going to use an attack which can be blocked by one of the scrolls. Ofcourse you can equip multiple to increase your chances of blocking something.
Hmm, so with 53 AP; I'd ideally go with something like: Aftershocks, Gift of the Forj, Perilous Whirlpool, Cobalt Eternal and Sancturia Exodin. And it would be good to have an infinite use attacking scroll as a backup for those challengers with healing disabled.
For a bit more budget scroll set: Soothing Current, Perilous Whirlpool x3, Cobalt Eternal, Sancturia Exodin and maybe an infinite use damage scroll like Heavens Cannon or Homing Meteor (both from the secluded shrine)
I'm really bad with scrolls though, so maybe somebody else will come along with better advice :)
I still need a more solid advice regarding weapons, something like a full set suggestion, if anyone can help :3
are you almost at T10? if you're close then maybe you could wait a bit since there will be more weapon choices in T10.
ah okay xD
a set "generally" contains 1 freezer, 2 attackers, 2 clutch healers, blasters or full blockers or bombs. i don't really have a full set recommendation since each set should be tailored for each challenger unless you can blast right through them.
however, i will suggest that you to invest in a reviver of the lion and, a rainbow vortex and/or a shinwas temple shard and/or amulet of neutrality because they will be useful in the later tiers too.
as for attackers, suggested a lot of good ones. you could check out weapons by tiers at https://www.subetalodge.org/weap_list/tier/9/page/1 as well.
how lovely, thank you! I'll try to put together a nice set to make my way though battle quests and see what I needfor specific opponents
you're welcome! I rmb T9 wasn't a really great tier and I had to use my T6-8 weapons too.
You might want to look into the and which were added to the battle shop yesterday. I think some testing is still going on, but they might be pretty ok weapons for tier 9. Check out the New Battle Shop weapons thread.
