Ssssoooo, Carl has a chance to pass out drunk when you quest for him and you can pilfer an expensive item from him, right? So how about offering him a (restockable) booze item for like say... a 10% chance of him actually passing out during your quests? But only once a day, not once every quest. Or it could happen when / if he asks for booze in a quest. I'd like the increased chance because he does not pass out often, and it also gives a little more incentive.

No support. If you wanna play PG-13 games with liquor, play with NPC Dirty Matty.

He passes out around one in nine times, which is plenty considering the value of what he drops. My own headcannon is that of course he is also asking you for liquor on the side, but never gives you anything for it bccause "you're friends". My headcannon is also that those items he asks for which are not from Rathskellar, he's already totally selling those to get more liquor. Therefore, he already IS passing out due to your actions. You didn't have to Enable the old reprobate out in his Addiction now, did you?

Headcannons are not subeta cannons. Don't shoot heads at people. And we don't have to help him out, but face it. Everyone does quests for prizes. Not for plot. Unless it's during a plot. But then we do it for prizes. I still like this idea.

quests are already balanced and Carl's quest is already nice, so yes, it is that deep in all your heads. Otherwise you wouldn't support or you'd be proposing that all quests grant more sP and stuff. All y'all want to make this one quest unbalanced, and the method for doing it is kinda skeezy.

Some people just want to see the world burn... but no. I don't think it would unbalance it. It would be nothing like the great Saggi Debacle.

Headcannons are NOT subeta canons and not reasons I find valid to stand against a suggestion.

I think this would be fun! Full support.

I'm legit curious as to how your headcannon has any bearing whatsoever here because last I checked this was Subeta.net not SolsticeSprite.net.

I have had quests in which Carl doesn't pass out at all, on numerous occasions he doesn't pass out and its honestly why I stopped doing them. The potential to give him alchies on the side would also be a slight sP sink which would in turn benefit the site. Maybe it doesn't have to be super cheap alcohol, it could be one of Gunters that way it balances out in sP ratios.

While I agree that he doesn't pass out nearly enough for my taste, I'm not sure about this idea. Maybe more along the lines of an RE, where you get an extra quest (like the wizard one) and if you bring alcohol, he has a higher chance of passing out? This would keep it much rarer and not change the balance too much.

I was actually thinking about this for a while and I'm not sure if I should add this here? (I'm not very good at forums) but I was thinking that it would be kind of nice to have a small event thing to help sober him up?

You could still have a 1 in 9 chance thing but instead of passing out it could be a thank you gift?

Like, I get the whole he's a drunk pirate thing, but the idea of giving him alcohol and then him passing out and you kinda just rob him does feel a bit odd to me? Then again it could just be me as my family has had a couple of alcholic problems in the past and the same with a housemate of mine, I could just be overthinking it!
