The emoji on the games page with achievements (like Matlal's Jewels) are not working. They do not parse.

The emojis on my page with Matlal's Jewels load as "❌". Many of the other games load for me as "🌟", such as Burrero Basket Bonanza, Cybill Sledding, Net Gain, Street Team Roadie, Ziara Raceway, Flight Simulator. These are the ones I noticed while looking through the games. Mixed: Gravedigger has 4 achievements loaded with "🌟", and 3 with "❌", Spectrail loads with 2 achievments as "🌟" and the final one as "❌".Balloon Sweeper has the first as "❌",and the second as "🌟". All from top to down from my view.

I noticed this a while ago, and then promptly started to ignore it as I paid more attention to the achievements page on games than the bit on the games's page. It does look odd, considering the particular achievements on the achievements page do not have these emojis or the code for them displayed. I can't say this is a big deal, but.... it does seem like a very obvious, visual error on the games's pages.

I am using Google Chrome ver 60.0.3112.78 on OS Windows 10. (I know there is a newer ver, I've just been to lazy to update. And these emoji codes have been showing long before that).

the different codes indicate the different symbols that appear depending on whether or not you've got the achievement. the X is for achievements you don't yet have, and the star is for achievements you do have.

anyway yeah this has been the case for a good while.

Thank you for clarifying! I am not quite aware of emojis's encoding. As far as I can tell after a quick look through, you are correct.

Regardless, it remains the case that the emojis's code for achieved or not, does not show. It is just text for me (and I assume for the OP as well? That it is not just Matlal's jewels?). I still think of this as not a massive problem, but that it is one that is very obvious and visible. I either think the emoji codes should be fixed, OR alternatively, removed altogether. What is the point? To show that they have been achieved? I guess that's OK, but then if they have been achieved they could say so with text or be removed altogether. The game achievements are, IMO, such a small part of the whole system that they could be kept track of through the achievement page by the individual user. I honestly don't see the need of their addition to the game page... but that's me, I suppose. My opinion remains that this isn't an error in need of immediate/ASAP fixing, but a very obvious one.

Wow, so this is actually way harder to fix than I expected. We use a script called Emojify that looks for those keywords on a webpage and converts them to emoji images on-the-fly. For some reason, it's just not converting those, and I honestly have no clue why at the moment. So unfortunately I can't just make a quick fix.

It's not a priority, but I agree it makes us look bad, so I'll discuss with the other staff about just removing them from now or something so the page is less obviously broken.

This should be fixed now. If you see a game where these are still broken, just let me know. But they should all be good now.

Have fun earning some Gold Stars ^^
