I know there have been a lot of stories out there that impacted many of us emotionally. Be it simply for the fact we fell in love with the story, the character, or it reminded us of ourselves in some way. I wonder what story or moment in anime/manga time impacted you, made you cry. With joy or sorrow. Maybe it was the music you listened to as you read? Or the well drawn scenes playing out on-screen that drew you in. What is the first time you cried for them or with them?

My first big cry came from Pokemon. Pikachu's Goodbye really touched me heavily.

Inuyasha. So hard. I mostly cried because it was over and i had nothing else to read. I had such a crush on Sesshomaru.

Speaking of pokemon i used to watch it all the time as a kid and i remember they released another pokemon TV movie, the one about the sea and manaphy and ive literally never balled my eyes out so much because of that.

I'm not one to cry but Clannad probably ended me entirely. Then there was Zankyou no Terror and Your lie in april. That's about it.

fruits basket volume 6 i think? the chapter about Momiji's mom not knowing who he is. all the sudden Momiji realizes he is crying and i realized, reading, that i was a sobbing mess too ! it actually surprised me! i was pretty young, i thought there was something wrong with me, i didn't even expect that it would make me cry. then for years following, if i needed a good cry, i would always read that chapter <3

(if you havent read the fruits basket manga, i recommend it, it's such a guilty pleasure of mine )

Wolf's Rain here as well... The one and only anime so far, where the ending made me cry ; __ ;

(But when I take a look at where the HunterxHunter manga is leading to, that might very well become Nr. 2)

Dang! Mine was fruits basket, too! And... also about Momiji. Except it was the part where he pretty much confused to being in love with Tohru. Playing the violin and stuff. omg, I was balling. it touched my 13 year old heart so hard. I bought the cutest stuffed puppy i could find, named it momiji, and cuddled it every night LOL

Sailor Moon, when the inner senshi died. My 7/8 years old self couldn't deal with it. People who complain about Madoka Magica being too tragic actually didn't see the inner senshi sacrificing themselves so Usagi could advance.

The second would've been Twin Spica, when I was already in my late teens. That show was so sad? I watched it thinking it was going to be a lighthearted show about a girl who wanted to be an astronaut, but it was actually a tragedy where people died and the girl constantly had her hopes and dreams threatened ;_;

I don't know which was first, but the most intense one was probably when I watched Clannad:afterstory. Honestly I hated the first season and took months until I got back to the afterstory part, I sobbed so hard. Hit me right in the heart.

i'm with my buddy here, wolfs rain was one of the first animes that i watched and i was shook. then i discovered ginga and it was nonstop pain from then on. that's probably why most of the anime i watch these days is slice of life; i need some happy, adorable anime in my life lmao.

Sailor Moon or Gundam Wing. They were the first anime I ever watched (Toonami, anyone?), and there were some intense emotional scenes that my little kid self couldn't handle. I cry at everything, though...

I am the same as and , Fruits Basket made me cry, it was my first manga too. I don't remember what part, either Momiji or something to do with Hatori. But I cried happy tears at the end of it, too! FMA was the first one to get me to actually break down. I think the Chimera part did it, but it did raise the bar for how sad manga has to be to make me cry.
