Perhaps I could interest you in Juliet Wright/Henry Newman? Basically a 1940's woman who habitually presents as a man. Either male or female is fine, and so is artistic license in regards to hair, clothes etc. :D Or maybe Matlal, the alternative-history jaguar warrior and head of an aztec voyage to The Old World? Optional bonus points if he's shown interacting with a hedgehog like he's just seen one for the first time in his life. :D If neither strikes your fancy then that's fine.
