Everything you need to remember is already on the card itself. Just remember what the suits mean, numerology, etc... and you can get it all figured out just by looking at the picture. :)

For example, the 5/cups is a card of loss -- but not total loss. There are still cups left that are untouched -- but the figure in the card hasn't seen them yet. The new foundation that can be built upon will be seen by our seeker once they turn around. So this tells us that the one who asks is feeling the brunt of the loss right now -- it is probably a recent setback since they haven't yet had time to reflect.

No big surprise since the number 5 is often about destruction. This is not bad. We have to clear out the old to make way for the new. That is how life works. Change is often upsetting, but ultimately it is often for the best.

Cups tells us it is an emotional loss -- most likely a relationship unless nearby cards indicate otherwise. If there are other cards -- esp. wands, since they are the suit of action -- that would help us determine if the emotion is the CAUSE or the RESULT of something that recently occurred.

And so on...

You probably already knew all of this & if I had held a card in the past two decades, I could go on longer -- but you no doubt get the gist of what I am saying. I just wanted to give an example of the sorts of things I was talking about.
