Hello, just a suggestion to change the : ) :) smiley to maybe less smiley, as it's a bit weird when you post :) and it looks as if I've said something really funny lol

:D and :) look so similar, just the eyes look different.

But just thought it would be nice to have : ) to be just a simple without teeth smiley ^^

Oh, people definitely agree. This was bought up not long after these emotes were introduced. It's so stupid to get a big grin when you're just wanting to post a little smile!

yes this has definitely been brought up before. i think i remember a time when : ) was translated to 😊 (colon-blush-colon) which i much preferred. then emojis broke across the site, and after they were fixed, it was different.

I think staff's response was that they were using some third party code for the smilies, and couldn't change it easily (or maybe not at all)? It's always bothered me, too.
