As my school year is about to start, there won't be enough free time in the day to do everything I'd like to do. Though I would like to get back into reading. I really love fiction - mostly horror or mystery, I haven't found any good sci-fi books I really wanted to invest into. Another area of non -fiction I would want to further myself in is like either ancient civilizations or any war book in general. History has a lot to offer and it amazes me out much we have advanced.
Any who - if you have any suggestions below, post them and maybe tell me about them.
And The Trees Crept In and Dead House, both by Dawn Kurtagich are both good mystery books with touches of supernatural and horror. The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray is another Supernatural one with some mystery.
Michelle Moran writes some really good historical fiction with female protagonists. I really liked Nefertiti and The Heretic Queen especially, and she has others I haven't gotten to yet.
Other than that, I'm more of a fantasy girl so I can only recommend those lol
Slaughterhouse Five is my favourite book of all time. It's categorized as "Black comedy, Satire, Science Fiction, War story, Metafiction, Postmodernism" and I think if you like books about war, you might really like it.
I've been reading The Madman's Tale by John Katzenbach. Sort of a murder mystery/horror. Its good so far, not done with it but I recommend it!

Recently I have finished The City of Bones - City of Ashes - City of Glass.. and there is a fourth book but I haven't bee able to find it at the library. Though - I have to say it is a good series and I want to try out those two books.
It's first story about vampires.

Literally anything by Neil Gaiman is wonderful in my book, but Stardust has to be my favorite. It's almost like an adult fairy tale, I suppose... you should give it a look if you're into fables and such! π
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, originally published in 1985 and revamped in the 90's to reflect the ideals/changes that came to the US with the Cold War. It's a futuristic war book. My all time favorite book.
The House of the Scorpion and The Lord of Opium (sequel) by Nancy Farmer are next in line for my favorite books. It's futuristic, set in the (fictional) country of Opium - one country in a band stretching between the US and AtzlΓ‘n (Mexico) called The Dope Confederacy.
