I was a little surprised upon my return that the buy buttons were removed from the shops. I really don't understand the reasoning behind this, but it'd be very nice to see them back. Here's why:
If someone's browsing a user shop and sees an expensive item they like, they can't WL it without buying it, unless they don't have the right amount of sP on them at the time. If they did, but weren't in a position to want to spend that amount at the moment, they'd be out of luck. It's a huge hassle to have to go to the vault, re-deposit the sP and then WL it, or have to WL it in another fashion.
I know I'm the kind of person that if I see something in a shop and don't want to buy it at the time, I WL it right then and there. Now I have no intention of doing so because of this rather inconvenient change.

Are you referring to main shops or user shops?
I can WL items in user shops no problem. As for main shops, we'll never get the WL option in those. It's always been shot down because it would allow users to add valuable items, and easily find them while restocking.
I'm referring to player shops. For example - I found a shop that sold nothing but CWs. Each time I tried to WL something, a confirmation came up asking me if I wanted to spend the CSC. I'm too afraid to try in other player shops now because of buying something I may not want right then and there ;_;

Oh, you tried it on a CW? It might be related to something I noticed in the Pawn Shop back when the CW side was open year round. Whenever I tried to add a CW to my WL from there, I'd get the pop up asking if I wanted to buy it.
I've got a CW in one of my shops, and just tried this out. I get the confirmation pop-up for the CW, but not for any other items. It only happens with CWs, so I wouldn't worry too much. All we need is for the problem with WLing CWs in shops to be fixed. c:
it's not the confirmation I'm worried about lol! It's just in general. You see something you want, but may not want to buy right then and there but you have the sP on hand at the time. You try to WL it and bam! You wind up buying it without wanting to :/

Oh no, I understand that. It just shouldn't be a problem with regular items. I've only seen this happen with CWs.
Was the one you tried to WL priced in sP or CSC? Wondering if that makes a difference or not.
no it was a sP item. I decided to brave it and try again and the WLing worked XD However, the shops do look like galleries and newbies may go "how do I get this item?" without the buy button being there.

Okay, so it's a problem with CWs, regardless of how they're priced.
I can't see even newbies being confused by galleries like that. There's no price or "Display Only" sign in galleries. You have to select the "Galleries" option in the shop search menu to find items in galleries, so no one's likely to accidentally go to a gallery and not realise what it is. The only other way is if the user has the shops on their profile, and galleries have a different colour icon.
Anyway, I'd report this problem with CWs in user shops as a bug. I did bring it up myself one time. Can't remember if I started a thread or bought it up in another one, but it was months too. Necro rule would apply by now. Hopefully with all the bug smashing going on lately, it might get fixed!
(and , in re: the pop-up) the pop-up for cws is intentional, to prevent accidental purchases: Pop-ups before buying CWs from user shops! if you click wishlist for a cw and then cancel on the popup, it wishlists the item just fine.
i can sort of see the argument for bringing back the button but idk how big of an issue it is? i mean, i haven't been a newbie for years but i feel like it's pretty obvious when it's a shop since it's got prices, and with the way shop search is now, you have to intentionally click on a shop to browse, otherwise you just buy the item then and there :?
Edit: Forget that. Missed that you did mention the WL problem.
Still, it's not something that should pop up when you just want to WL an item. The pop up is there so people don't accidentally buy CWs. It shouldn't come up when you're just trying to WL it
Pretty sure staff removed it because people asked them to remove the confirmation cause it was a pain in the butt for many people trying to buy more than one item at a time.
If you need to add something to your WL from a shop hovering until you see the + wishlist should work. I do it all the time with sP and csc items in shops and have never accidentally bought something.
this was forever ago, but didn't it do that when regular items had the pop-up as well, though? i mean, it is annoying but wishlisting works either way.
I don't remember it happening like this with regular items. I've only seen it happen like this with CWs.
then i'm probably misremembering and wishlisting cws without triggering the pop-up could probably use a bug post or its own suggestion. i'd hope it's a quick adjustment kind of thing p:
The "buy" button was a royal pain, I totally hated it. I can see your problem, but I am not sympathetic to it sorry. sP flows like water here, so even if you mistake an expensive item you can recover fairly quickly.
Me, I do not do any stray clicks when I'm in someone's shop. I open up a new tab and Copy the item name into Search Shops and hover over the item image there.
Tbh I sort of side with here... If you want to WL an item, hover over it and open the "Search Shops" link in a new tab and wishlist it there, or just copy-paste the item name. I know it's a bit more work, but I am pretty sure the Buy buttons were removed because users wanted it removed (This is something I heard though, I wasn't here for it). So I wouldn't want to add it back without a lot more user support than I'm seeing here.
To clarify, is this a problem you are only having with CWs, or do it not matter if it's a CW or not? And further, you wrote:
Does this mean you were just misclicking, and the WL button does work for user shop items?
The WL button is finicky... You have to hover over the item and click on the words "wishlist+" that slides up. If you click somewhere else, then you'll end up clicking the item instead of the wishlist link. So maybe that's the problem you're having?

I know you're asking Wolf_Spirit, but since I've experienced the same issue I wanted to add what I know of it.
Back when I tried to WL items in the CW Pawn Shop, the confirmation to buy would pop up. And I was definitely clicking on the WL link. The blue border would appear around the item I was trying to add, and if I wanted to remove an item, the border would disappear.
This happened to me several times in the CW Pawn Shop. Since this topic popped up, I've also tested it on a CW item in one of my shops. I'm not missing the WL link. Border comes, border goes. Confirmation pop up comes up too. The wishlist link absolutely does trigger the confirmation pop-up.
I don't think we need the Buy button back. The problem here is that trying to WL CWs in user shops brings up the confirmation pop-up as if you are trying to buy it. Is there any way to fix it so that clicking on the WL link DOESN'T trigger the pop up?
Oh okay, thanks. That clarifies things a lot for me. I verified that what you said is indeed happening. However, you're right, you can still wishlist things. The pop-up is annoying, but if you click "cancel" when it comes up, the item does get wishlisted as you wanted. (I was confused because it sounded like was saying they can't wishlist things at all - maybe I misinterpreted?) Anyway, I'll make a note to fix this, but since it doesn't actually get in the way of functionality, it will have to wait until I have the time.

She mentioned it happening with CWs in her second post, then I recognised it was the same problem I'd had with the CW Pawn Shop.
Thanks! c: I hope it's something that can be fixed. It's pretty alarming to be asked if you want to buy an item you're just trying to WL. Especially something as expensive as CWs.
