Once again lose to Hustler, Poisoned Blowdart really turn the tie for him. I am kind of amazed how hard it hit and freeze. Checked Subeta lodge and it is vague.

Question:

Is it worth almost 100 mil? How fast my pet will out grown it?

Does it has high freeze chance on target? Only it only freeze when it fail?

What is the odd of poisoning yourself to happen?

Thanks a lot!

It's not worth it imo. Your pet will outlast the Hustler's attack even when he uses the Emo Spork when it reaches T10. I find the notes on SL quite self-explanatory: it will freeze only when the poison aka negative heal happens. It's hard to decide how often this will occur without having the weapon itself to test, but just as other weapons with gimmicks I don't think it'll happen more frequently than 25% of the time.

Pets at T6 might still struggle with the Hustler so the best bet would be stealing his Emo Spork and use it against him. As you grow in tiers you won't have to rely on this method as much. If you want an extra freeze there are other things which can do the job just as well and are either cheaper or still effective as you grow:

  • Using the which has medium chance to freeze and/ or low chance to steal plus a minimum of 16 icon-attack and 25% heal. Doesn't take Freezer slot which means you can bring both this and another 100% Freezer into battle. It might not hit as hard and is as RNG as the poisoned blowdart but it beats the other one hands down price- and usefulness-wise.
  • Investing in a freezing scroll such as , which comes with -3% heal, good defence against wind icons and 85% chance to freeze. Doesn't take any slot because it's a scroll, and also beats the poisoned blowdart hands down price- and usefulness-wise. Rather than having to pay 100 mil for a weapon you will outgrow soon, and which will contribute to your losing chance more than it can be useful, buying 2 Shrieks at 78 mil and spend 22 mil upping your AP to be able to equip these two scrolls will be a much better investment in the long run, since chances are you will use these scrolls even at T10+

Aw, thank you. You sound like you either check my pets or remember my battle pet was about to hit tire 6 last time you answered me.

Sorry to bother you a little more, I want to replace [item2=Steamwork Hunting Gun] with [item2=Replica Minotaur Knocker]. I am not sure if I should go for it.

P.S. My set right now

UltimaPlus tag Frost Thron Pheonix Feather Reborn Ice wand Steamwork hunting gun Flayed Lord Breastplate Gore gun Recycle Blaster

It depends on how much you'd want to invest into and commit to battling as a hobby here 😄

EDIT: Trying to shorten the wall of text 😅

If you don't mind investing in the best options available, I'd say wait until T10 and buy the which is the best earth-blocker available for purchase. There are other options that would get you around earth-based opponents in BQs (Recycle Beast and Terrafirma):

Tier 7: blocks earth and a little of fire and ice and light icons (ideal for Recycle Beast) while healing for 6%. Its attack (which is quite lame) can be improved with modifying crystals, or with parched baguetttes which come with 4 attack icons each so they're a much better choice if you can afford it.

Tier 8: blocks more earth, dark, and some ice (again ideal for Recycle Beast and serviceable against Terrafirma). This one sadly doesn't come with a heal but it does block two of the Recycle Beast's stray icons (dark + ice). Other more expensive earth blockers include . By then the might make a better replacement to the Flayed Lord Breastplate. All these T8 suggestions come with 3 mod slots each, giving you 6 mod slots per turn which equals 18 more defensive icons if you feel like using them for that purpose. Or you can pair 2 attackers if you prefer that approach more.

Tier 9: If you want a really, really solid but affordable earth block the also makes for a nice alternative (albeit without heal). Against other T9 challengers 75 earth block almost equals full earth block.

Tier 10: Then of course none of the available options beats the at T10.

If you can get by with cheaper earth-blocking options for T6 to T9 and go for the best one at T10 it'd be a much better investment imo. If you can beat Terrafirma at T8 with your T8 set chances are you don't even need an earth blocker upgrade at T9. Minotaur Knocker is nice for its heavy attack and quite solid earth block plus heal, but if you'll replace it eventually with the Hook Swords it'd be better to use that sP for Knocker to buy other staples instead, such as the or which you will find useful for as long as you still battle.

[edit] Actually I just tried and beat Recycle Beast with my T6 pet who is around your stat (with less AP). I intentionally made a set which quite resembled that of yours, with a few exceptions:

Apart from the scroll, the only difference in my set is the Frozen Ocean Curl but you can replace that with a heavy hitting bomb and slot each of your attackers with one Freezing Baguette to increase your chance of freezing. Minotaur Knocker is not needed to win this particular opponent at your stats, but if you don't want to buy the Hook Swords even later then yes I'd say the Minotaur Knocker is one of the best affordable earth blockers available now.
