Every time an event or holiday rolls around, I always want to host my own contest. But I don't really know what people expect or want from contests. I don't even have a good understanding of what the community considers "desirable" items. I do know that GAs and wishlist items are probably the more likely contest prizes...but what else? If you had to choose a top three (or even top five) contest prizes, what would they be? What would make a contest worth it to you, personally?

CSC is pretty much always desirable, so lots of people will include a few gift cards in their prizes (like the 250 or 500 credit cards, or whatever you can afford). Some other things I've seen have also been some CS related things, like monthly collection bags. CWs also tend to be popular, but those can be expensive.

If you wanted to do WL items for people specifically, I suppose you could figure out what kind of sP limits you'd like to have. So you could say 1st place winner gets a WL item (or items) worth up to 20 million, 2nd place up 10 million, or something like that.

I don't participate in contests very often, these are just some examples of things I've seen being used as prizes.

Thank you for your input! I like your suggestion of sP limits on wishlist items. I had thought about sP limits before but wasn't really sure of any numbers to cap off at and you just gave me great examples c:

Whenever a holiday rolls around, there are always quite a few contests going on. So I guess I'm just really wondering how to make my contest stand out among the crowd 😭

No problem!

I'm not exactly sure on what numbers to cap the sP limits at either, those were just some examples. I suppose it depends on how generous you're feeling and how much you're willing to spend!
