Well it's Pride Month, and I decided yesterday to create a new pet, Pronoun, as a way to provide information and support for transgender people like myself. Pronoun is under some real construction right now, but one of the first things I like to do when I get a new pet is plan out their Treasure Chest with appropriate items...I had difficulty, however, when I realized we don't really have trans pride items - nor many other pride items, for that matter!

One of my favorite things about this site is how loving and supportive the community is to all kinds of people. We've got a few characters on here that are canonically confirmed as falling under the LGBT+ umbrella, such as the androgynous Quentin, the asexual Nico and Liz, and the newly-wed couple of Emma and Esther. We also have a good amount of users themselves who are part of the community, so why not have a few items to show our pride and support for members of the LGBT+ community?

We have a few pride items currently, and they all seem to represent gay pride. Which is awesome that we have gay pride items, don't get me wrong, but it would be an absolute delight if we could have pride items for other sexual/romantic orientations, gender identities, etc. Excluding Custom Clothing, these are all the pride items we currently have:

There's a few different items I can imagine Subeta having for these types of things: shirts, flags, stickers, and pins. Shirts could each have stripes and colors representing different pride flags. Pastel blue, pink, and white stripes for a trans pride shirt; black, grey, white, and purple for asexual pride; pink, yellow, and blue for pansexual pride - you get the idea. All kinds of different pride flags represented with their own individual shirts. And of course we could have the actual flags themselves as items! Wearable or no, I know they'd be really appreciated. As for stickers and pins, of course the flags are again an option, but I would really like to see pronouns too! A sticker saying "they/them/theirs" for example, a wearable pin or other article of clothing saying "she/her/hers". We could have ones that say things like "LGBT+" or "equality", "ally", "I support you", "poly", "questioning", "demiboy", and so on.

Just a few ideas being tossed here. n__n I love this site, I love the users, I love the staff, and I love seeing all the new things created on it, so I think it'd be really cool to see something like this happening. ❤

Not that I'm not all for pride things, I feel like this could get so out of hand really fast. There are so many different lgbt groups, if they didn't do all of them, or if one group got more items than another group, people could get upset.

It's a lovely thought and I personally would love some ace themed items, but idk -shrug-

I understand what you mean. c: But I'd rather have a good amount of such items and run that kind of risk than have little-to-none at all, m'self.

Regardless of the possible difficulty of making this happen, I want to say: I fully support the further queering of Subeta.

I think the best analogy is one from real life: if there's not enough awareness or promotion of an issue, we need to correct it by adding awareness, or adding support for that issue- rather than restricting it from other groups.

There's no finite amount of awareness that can be spread around IRL, no restriction cap on resources. There will never be 'not enough' to go around. We pave the way for fairness by creating more for everyone, not taking things away- and the first step of that is actually making the things. Doing the do, huehuehurr.

And so ayyy, there isn't a cap on subeta items either! Which is what I was getting at.

We should definitely strive to be as inclusive as possible from the very beginning, but it doesn't matter if there are bumps on the way, or if one 'group' initially gets more than another. The mindset we need is 'more for everyone', so ayyy please just give us more LGBT items I need them like laif.

This Suggestion is written in an odd way and it's preventing it from being as effective as it could be.

Shirts would belong in the Pride thread in Suggestions-Avatars. Flags would be too, but Subeta's been veering away from those (says I, wearing the USA one, heh). I dunno if they will make any more of those.

Stickers and nonwearable pins as Suggested would be here.

Food items in colors like cakes or molded gelatine/aspic in striped layers, or Minion items that have critters with queer behaviors or colors. Those kind of thing would be here.

Oh yes, I would love this. Also, they are subtle enough for users to use them in many other ways as well, for those concerned about that.

In a similar vein, I'd love to see some things with card suits on them for ace pride. :)
