HELLO EVERYONE!!!

I wanted to start a big brainstorming thread for things we can do as a group. This is pretty new and all but I'm excited by all the lovely people we have here. Seriously, every single one of you is awesome <3

In this thread, I wanna ask for suggestions and ideas for where to take this group and what things we can do. I have a couple ideas and prompts to start us off, and I'll try and keep this post updated as we come up with more things. What would YOU like to see in this group? :)

Here are some things I think we could do within the group:

• Graphics (like forum images and signatures) for the group

• That can include pronoun graphics (for instance little "they/them" buttons you can put in your forum signature, profile, and so on)

• Other fun "freebies" such as group-related art, buttons, profile templates, and so on

• Contests: What kind of contests would you be interested in having here, if any?

• Giveaways: One idea I was playing with was the idea of a sort of weekly "challenge" or "prompt" - It would be different each week, and basically ask you to do something to be entered into a raffle for that week. For instance, the challenge could be subeta-related like "make an HA with a specific theme" or even something more IRL like "do something nice for a stranger". Each week some prizes could be raffled to the participants (who opt in, of course). What do you think?

• Support? I know a lot of us struggle with mental/emotional health, and for many of us it's related to our nonbinary identities. I know this isn't strictly a mental health group but if there's interest in making a thread for it or other resources I'd be happy to get it set up.

• Separate ping groups: Right now we have the main ping group. I'm thinking of making separate ones that we can ping for things like peer support versus announcements, what do you think of this? To clarify it would just be a different ping so we can specify what we're pinging for, and so people can selectively mute them if they want (like, mute giveaway announcements but not peer support, etc)

Subeta-related things...

• Item lending (for achievements, and also for other things like to wear on your HA)
• Organizing item swaps (for things like lifelike dolls and other collections)
• I know some of us are not comfortable with gifts, while many of us also like to do random gifting, so I was thinking what if we had a post that just listed each member along with whether they are comfortable receiving gifts, and links to wishlists or most wanted items? That way if any of us want to do random gifting we can check the post, and there will also be a handy list there of people who don't want to be gifted so we can avoid accidentally doing that too.

Here are some more "public" things we could do:

• I have the pet named NB and I wish to dedicate their profile to this group! I want to have links to nonbinary resources on their profile (like glossary, helpful websites, information websites, stuff about being trans, coming out, binding, etc) as well as some basic explanation of what "nonbinary" means.
• I think it might be neat if we sponsored some public Genderless Berry giveaways. It's the closest thing Subeta has to nonbinary pets, and it can seem really expensive especially to newer players, so it might be nice to give them out to people who want one to make their pet nonbinary :D
• We could also keep a directory of nonbinary pets on Subeta! It would be cool to have a directory of these somewhere and I'm sure a lot of people on Subeta have nonbinary OCs and pets to show off.

all of these sound awesome to me! I'll say what I think by subject specifically if that's alright c:

In-Group Activities: -I think something like a graphic/group specific signature/somethin to put on your profile/etc. would be a great idea! It could be used to find new members or maybe just have some NB visibility on SB :) !

-Contests: I SO would love some kind of contest for outfits where we can all vote on them? Or maybe something corresponding to site events going on at the time?

-I don't really have anything to add about Giveaways or Support, I think both the things you suggested are great!

Public:

-Having the pet NB as a sort of informational guide for those just acquainted to/coming out as NB I think would be really helpful to others who are confused or in need of help on the subject, same with the Genderless Berry idea! they both sound fun but also educational to others! Plus helping new players get a head start with something hard to obtain in the beginning would be very sweet, maybe we could all chip in an equal amount of sP to get some and see if there's interest?

i do like the 'support' idea though gods only know we need enough of it

i neither know about nor have opinions on the rest

Graphics - One with a drawing of NB would be cute.

Contests - I think things relating to Subeta events would be fun. HA contests are always good, but I wonder what else we can have.

Support - This would be really helpful.

I like these ideas so far. Maybe it's because I just woke up, but I have nothing else to say right now.

Graphics: I really like this idea! I'd love to have little buttons or icons for forum signatures that have the nonbinary or genderqueer flag, pronouns, and maybe a lil drawing of NB.

Contests/Giveaways: Yeah, this sounds super fun! I like the idea of HA contests from a prompt or idea, and maybe we could have art or writing contests? (I wouldn't want the prizes to be huge, just something small and sweet.)

Support: Yes definitely! Even if it's just a place to rant about cissexism in everyday life.

Gift List: I really like this idea; I like to give out gifts on birthdays or even sometimes b/c i just feel like it, and I definitely don't want to make anyone uncomfortable by accident.

I love all the ideas! I'll give some specific feedback, too.

Graphics: This is a great idea! It would be handy for advertising the group, as well as connecting with others.

Contests/Giveaways: SO, I had thought of hosting a rainbow-themed HA contest for Pride but got too busy and forgot about it. Instead of making a rainbow outfit, it would be a color of the Pride flag (or it could be the NB flag) and there'd be a winner for each color to make up the entire flag, if that makes sense... I would consider hosting a contest here if you needed people to host contests, I would just need to figure out possible prizes.

Support: YES, please. There could be a general support thread and a more LGBT/NB specific support thread, if we wanted to break it down further. We totally don't have to, but I actually considered venting about somehting in the how are you today thread and didn't because I didn't know if it was appropriate, y'know? It wasn't NB related & I would have probably been long-winded ... like I am now ...

Gift Thread: Another big YES from me. I love gifting people, as long as they're OK with it, and this could be helpful for things like birthdays and random gifting.

Public Events: I like these ideas, too! The directory is a neat idea, and I like the genderberry idea a lot. I think it could be something people are interested in and do some outreach for the group :3

hahaha. I made the group when I saw other similar groups and I thought "there's so many cool nb folk on subeta, we should have one too!" but I'm in the same boat. Like here we all are, nb as fuck, now what..? XD

Anyway, to you and also - Thanks for the great feedback! I've read everything you've said and here's my response. I've got some follow-up questions too. And I'm gonna ping the rest of the group so anyone else who wants to jump in has a nudge to do so :)

GRAPHICS/FREEBIES:

Woo! Graphics are good, now we just need some of us to volunteer to make them haha. I can give it a try, but I'm much better at coding X) and omg I think having cute doodles of our group mascot (lil NB) would be great too! We should probably finalize their species so we can get on that. So far there's 4 candidates for species (we sorta decided spectrum was the best color, to represent the colorful spectrum of gender!) and I put the images in the first post of this topic, under the first spoiler: Suggestions for group mascot? Go make your vote!

SUPPORT:

It looks like we definitely want some support threads. My original idea was that "Enby Care Corner" would be 100% dedicated to support. I put the check-in thread there since people can talk about their days, but maybe that thread would be better moved to Enby Social?

That said, what would you like to see in Enby Care Corner? So far, I started a little "positivity" thread that's supposed to be non-serious and just to post things that make us smile. The check-in thread turned out more casual than I anticipated, actually! And to I apologize, it's important to me that there is a place the group members can vent here. I like the idea of having two "Vent and Support" threads: one for general anything-goes stuff, and one for specific LGBT/NB related stuff.

CONTESTS: Ah, thanks for the feedback about making it correspond with Subeta events. That's a great idea.

It looks like we have a bit of a group to-do list from this thread:

1. Create the Vent+Support threads (I'll do this)
2. Start the gift-list thread and ping everyone to add their info
3. Pick species for NB (once that's set, we'll officially have a mascot and can start writing fanfics with them JK JK)
4. Gather resources for, write, and code NB's profile
5. Make/obtain group graphics (buttons, forum sigs, pronoun badges, NB doodles)

I love your ideas for contests and public events, so those will be next priority :D

I'll start the vent+support threads and moderate them for now.

Some things we need, from whichever lovely members can do them:

• Would anyone here like to be in charge of the gift thread? You would be create the thread and be responsible for updating it.
• Is anyone here good at art and graphics?[/b] Speak up now! We need your skills <3
• Finally, anyone who wants to contribute some writing and resources to NB's page can do so on the group mascot thread :)

I'm alright with taking care of the gift-list thread. Is it for birthdays or something?

- I think the Check-In thread would be best in Social.

I can edit graphics, but I can only draw very basic things. If someone else can draw, that would be better.

Small announcement: I moved the Check-in Thread to Enby Social (it used to be in the Care Corner) and I've started a vent+support thread in Enby Care Corner where you can feel comfortable talking about heavier subjects. Here's the vent and support thread: Vent + Support Thread

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! I hope I'm doing okay leading the group so far. If you have any suggestions or comments for me though, please don't be shy, I won't be upset at criticism either. I'm sort of new to the leadership thing and I don't want to make any huge mistake X)

The gift thread is mainly so there's a clear list of who is comfortable receiving gifts and who isn't. There's a few of us who don't feel comfortable getting gifted, so if the group does do giveaways eventually, or if some of us feel like randomly gifting group members, it would be good to have that info somewhere clear. The rest (like linking to wishlists or most-wanted-items) is optional but might be nice to have :)

If you want to make and maintain the thread, you can do so. I think it would fit best in Enby Social. Here's the code I've been using for the green titles of all the threads:

i really like the graphics idea!! i may be able to do some drawing/graphics if anyone is interested!

that being said, i wouldn't know where to start exactly? i haven't done much by way of signature/forum post-sized graphics, so i don't know the ideal dimensions or anything. but i would imagine making some simple things like little enby flags (and perhaps the flags of various enby genders as i think of them/on request?) in various shapes or what have you would be a good start?? idk haha but let me know if i should take a crack at that!

also with regards to contests and giveaways i would be more than happy to contribute sp/items, and i also have a method of buying csc irl (albeit in not too large denominations - i only have a part-time job, haha) so if csc gift cards were a prize/giveaway item anyone wanted to do you could contact me to get them too! c:

Graphics: Yeesss! I'd love to see group signatures and whatnot. :3 Contests: Oh absolutely! Art, writing and HA contests would all be fun. I also love giving gifts and spoiling people whenever I can (and provided they're cool with it)!

idk who to ask about it but far mentioned a billboard and i've got a 10k billboard in my vault don't remember how i got it but i'm never gonna use it so like who should i send it to for use in this group

Just popping in to say that I LOVE the idea of an nb pet directory!

I also like the planned Morostide trading depot, I end with countless double items each year so it's going to be awesome to trade them away for sth I might still need.
