I think it makes sense for Pete to be attending the Peka Park food fest! I mean, how could he just ignore the smell of all that delicious food? I'm choosing to pretend that he's relocated his quests there until the food trucks are gone.
Here is some customCSS that puts Pete where he belongs!
(This just adds a background to Pete's image so that he's standing in front of the Peka Park food trucks!)

Anyway, what other NPCs do you imagine to be attending the Food Fest, and what do you think they're eating? Here's some of my thoughts...
- Saggi won't go near it of course, because food trucks are below him
- Carl hangs around Meat-o-Saurus and Tater Time, he definitely seems like a potato guy
- Major Drills seems like he'd want to stay health conscious at Veggikumora
- Carl also attempts to swim in the giant cake batter bowl but (luckily for all of us) he hasn't been able to get past security
- The Wizard seems like he'd enjoy Wok This Way, maybe feed some of the meatier bits to Luna

Tbh I bet Elwood is hanging out with Eddie Bell somewhere celebrating his new line. I ship them.

(Also your comment made me think it would be hilarious if some shadier unofficial "food trucks" popped up here and there, like the hustler trying to sell you questionable bagged meals out of a crudely painted cardboard "truck")

That would be hilarious, having the Hustler roll up with a "food truck" of his own with things he pulled out of the Quick Bites dumpster or something.

Considering you can throw into the batter, Carl swimming in there would be inconsequential.
That is... quite something.
But I mean, at the same time, a lot of random non-food things have been flying OUT of the batter at us... including pants. Why were there pants in the cake batter? The world may never know.
