I decided to make this thread cuz last night in Sun I went to vast poni canyon to evolve my Charjabug. And I randomly found a beautiful shiny bouldore! I wasn't even looking for it. It was a surprise and I successfully captured him.

Here are all the shinies I have found randomly over my many years playing pokemon. When I say randomly I mean I wasn't trying to find a shiny they just popped up in the wild.

Shiny Ponyta in Pokemon Pearl? Or Platinum(but I think it was Pearl) This one was so long ago. I adored her blue color, and then when she evolved her flame turned into a ghostly grey color. Sadly I was an idiot and didn't trade her out of my file, I regret it everyday now, lol. Her name was Hexxah.

Shiny Ryhorn in the freaking safari zone in Leaf green. I was sooo expecting to fail this capture, but I actually caught him. I named him Granite and I still have him as a shiny Rhyperior today.

Shiny Taillow in Emerald. I named him Sprint and I still have him as a Swellow

Shiny Vullaby, Woobat and Sandile (All in a single playthrough of the game I kid you not!) In pokemon black. I have traded them for other shinies over the years.

And now I found a shiny bouldore.

I have found many shiny water pokemon thru chain fishing, and the only shiny I found using pokemon radar, or whatever was a shiny Miltank which I actually found in one chain, after countless other chains were broken. I caught her and called her Lulu, in X and Y.

What were your random shiny encounters or shiny failures? What's your favorite shiny?

I have too many Shiny Pokemon to list them here. Most of them came from chaining in one of the older games, fun times! I think I have two boxes or so full of them plus quite a few random encounters from various other games. X'D

My favorite Shinies are probably my Shiny Dragonite and Toucannon, both were gifts from my amazing sister <3

My favorite caught Shiny was a Shiny Nosepass that I chained for my sister because she is awesome and deserves her favorite Pokemon in Shiny. Took me hours because the only chain spot for Nosepass was a nightmare miniature piece of grass with a bridge and whatever hiding parts of it to make it even more challenging but I did it and I'm still proud of it, lol

I have never come across a Shiny Pokemon in the games :c

I received a Shiny Blissey in a wonder trade in X & Y once. My favorite Shiny is the Lopunny for sure.

My first ever shiny was in Pokemon Crystal I think? And it was a Zubat! I might've made it faint or something, I was young haha! And my favorite I currently have is a shiny Goodra that I hatched myself in Pokemon Y and I love the golden shinies and pink ones the best! One day I hope to get a shiny swablu! ahhh shiny taillow is the best!! i have a shiny swellow named sora on pokemon black but i got her through rng manipulation so i dunno if she counts as "legit" lmao

i have a lot of shinies bc i like shiny hunting, and breed for competitive pokemon with a japanese ditto so sometimes get random shinies?? it's always a super pleasant surprise~ (actually as a sidenote if anyone needs to borrow a 6iv japanese ditto hmu)

my favorite shiny has been azumarill since i was a kid i had a hacked one on platinum years ago but a while back bred a legit one on omega ruby!! i named her shinyrill after my hacked one c: and i got her in something like 50 eggs too?? my shiny eevee and growlithe took something like 500-600 eggs each :v

my latest catch was a shiny zangoose i called kai~ took a week of passively dexnav chaining and about 570 encounters or something orz my favorite game to shiny hunt is def omega ruby, sos chaining in sun is really frustrating imho and i miss the dexnav and hordes q ___ q

I've never actually caught a Shiny myself, barring the Red Gyarados. I have a couple of the code Shinies as well, but the closest thing I have to a "personal" shiny was getting a Shiny Axew via Wonder Trade.

It seems like unlike most people here I've never had a shiny until I played Pokémon Moon. I didn't even want it; it just randomly appeared - and to make the situation even more amusing: It was a Magikarp. Now it's a Gyarados; it was not in my main team though I decied to train it on the islands.

I've encountered a few shinies other than the shiny Gyarados.

In Pokemon LeafGreen I found my first shiny (an Exeggcute) in the Safari Zone. It ran off, but I didn't know about shinies at the time, so it wasn't a big loss for me.

Then in Pokemon X, I found a shiny Litleo on route 22. I accidentally fainted it though.

And a few days ago, on a recent play through of Pokemon Silver, I found and caught a shiny Tangela on route 44. I already had a battle-ready team, so it went into the box.

My favorite shinies are shiny Ponyta, Lopunny, Gardevoir and Sylveon. I really like blue~

First playthrough of Pokemon Y. Had my first encounter with a shiny Hawlucha - I thought at first it's his normal colour but then it sparkled...pretty much freaked out.

I've gotten three random shinies. My first was an abra in original ruby. I play with the sound off so I almost missed it- I barely caught the sparkle animation out of the corner of my eye. Second one was a kricketune in platinum which I traded off (I didn't know about SID back then, I should have kept it. :( ) my last one was a shinx in soul silver at the safari zone! So pretty much 2/3 of my random encounter shinies have been heart in throat because they will run away if I don't catch them. xD

I chain/breed shinies as a hobby, and have a ton from wonder trades. My favorite is mudkip. c:

Sun/Moon has been pretty brutal even with the shiny charm... I've only hatched one shiny and have only successfully chained one in spite of trying for the last year.

My first shiny was a Starly in Platinum! I don't usually chain to find them, they usually appear on random encounters, when I'm EV training or through eggs. Some of my shinies:

• Charmander (A user here in Subeta traded me one!), Beautifly, Ponyta, Vulpix, Oddish (oh I have encountered around 4 in AS and I had to let one go because I had enough of them xP), Graveler, Dragonair, Jirachi, Lopunny (these last three are possibly hacked, got them through tumblr), Sandile, Frogadier, Greninja, Spoink, Swablu (x2), Sandshrew (x2), Roserade, Murkrow, Eevee, Sylveon, Wingull, Pelipper, Heracross, Staraptor (I evolved Starly!), Shellos (blue one), Mareep and Poochyena.

My favorites are Dragonair, Sylveon and Mareep <3

I haven't gotten one in Sun but mainly because I stopped playing it :'D

I have quite a few shinys so far...mostly because I have this challenge with my friend, where we hunt for shinys c: It sounds hard, but we both have the shiny charm~ :3

My fave shinys would have to be melotic, sylveon, dragonair and loppunny.

my first shiny was a barboach in ruby. the next one i saw was a geodude in firered, but it used selfdestruct on the first turn in battle ;m; but i found a shiny pidgey shortly after that, and a tentacool in leafgreen. didn't run into any more shinies until moon, where i got a shiny pancham while chaining, looking for a castform. i've gotten a few shinies via wonder trade; a lucario and a latios, both pretty obviously hacked (perfect IVs, pokerus, shiny, holding gold bottlecaps), but still welcome additions to my battle tree team!

I used to chain shinies here and there, and also used to breed them. It was so difficult but I managed to get a lot.

My white whale is a shiny ditto. I want one so badly but have never been able to find one :(((
