Hey! Gypz is within 2-3 days of hitting tier 5 and I figured I should go ahead and get ready to update my battle set, I'm still using some lower tier items because everything is so pricey. :/ This is her current set:
So far I'm definitely going to add in at T5, and seems decent as well. I don't want to spend too much SP because... I'm cheap D:
Also, I know I'm way, way behind on spells, I only have three equipped:

You will probably want to replace your Icy Freezing rod of Doom with an . It's a 100% chance freeze.
If you're willing to go for it, the is 8 million in the Millionaire Center right now, and as it's a 100% once per battle heal I'd argue it's worth the price even if you're cheap. It's one of those items you'll probably use forever on every pet.
Are you doing battle quests as part of your dailies on Subeta? If you do, there are a couple of weapons that you can purchase from the battle shop when you've accumulated enough battle tokens. They're good for their price and can save you some sP.
100% Freezers and are both available from the battle shop. Y
Attackers or Both come with a low chance to freeze as a bonus. I'd keep the Kusarigama, but would swap out the Demon Sword and Pie Bomb.
Shield makes for a decent blocker. The downside is it tends to break quite easily.
Other Forj Tempered shields include: Each block a slightly different set of icons; their common blocks are fire, magma and ice. They're cheap to make if you can restock the needed alloys from the Smithy and there's no rush in making them if you want to wait a bit. In the meantime, the Forj Tempered Shield would do the job.
Healer Besides the Quill, I'd recommend the as another healer (it doesn't take up the healer slot, but does take up the Stealer slot). It heals for 25%, which is more than 100HP heal when you're above 400 HP. It also comes with medium chance to steal and freeze.
Stealer 90% chance to steal. Takes up Stealer slot hence cannot be equipped with the Ultimaplus Tag at the same time.
Blaster will blast one of your opponent's weapons into a Recycle Wad, which does 1 icon. If the opponent uses the Recycle Wad, you'll take less damage and survive longer in battle.
Blessing provides some defence and minor heal
Even if you only battle on a casual basis, I'd recommend investing in a which is now available in the Summer stock at the MC for 8 mil. You'll find it helpful for a long time even as you grow in tiers.
Scrolls is one I'd recommend making for its 8% heal. also comes with 4% heal and some attack.
For tier 5 opponents, earth, dark, fire and physical seem to be the common icons, so I'd recommend the following scrolls which provide some defence against those. Please note that you might want to swap these out very soon when you advance to another tier, or face a new opponent.
They're cheaper to make by buying ingredients. Among these the Lucent Barrier seems to have more spread-out defence, but if the others don't cost too much to make it'd be good to have them available.
I make the above scroll suggestions based on the assumption that you're only battling on a casual basis. If you ever want to invest into battling, there are definitely better options so please feel free to ask if you change your mind any time in the future.
Thanks for the advice! The reason I don't want to spend a whole bunch on weapons is because Gypz levels out of them in 1-2 weeks - though getting to t6+ will take a little longer than blazing through 1-4, obviously. So, since I'm still really new to the site, I don't have the biggest set of disposable income to drop on items I'll probably level out of and then have a rough time trying to resell. I can definitely get a well priced set out of the info you gave me though, so thanks a bunch!

Blasting weapons helps a lot, you will definitely want to pick up . I would also highly recommend investing in . It's a little pricey but worth it for the full heal, doesn't take up a healer slot and can be used even at the highest tier. is another good buy. It can come in handy against someone like the cursed effigy where healing is disabled. Other than that the two items you are already buying are good to use for tier 5.
Good scrolls will be the most expensive things to buy now. Cobalt eternal and sancturia exodin scrolls are nice. Sancturia will be cheaper to make at the shrine. Divine denizhen can be useful but I prefer the aftershocks scroll. it is a lot more expensive but is geared for higher tiered pets with more health. It has a higher % heal than divine and packs more of a punch. It's worth the investment since it only becomes more useful as you climb tiers.
Perilous whirlpool can be a cheap fire blocking scroll and has a chance to freeze. Gelaspell has a smaller chance to freeze but is infinite use like aftershocks and divine denizhen. I prefer the unstable snow fairy scroll instead of gelaspell, but this scroll works better with higher tiered pets with high speed.
You're welcome :D The attackers I suggested would last you until you reach T7, when you'd be better off with other options. If you plan to grow your pet and not stop at certain tiers, I'd suggest looking up for recommended weapons at those tiers so you can plan your saving in advance.
I'm at T12 and can still find lots of use for the Phoenix Quill and Recycle Blaster, so I'd definitely recommend them as the first battle investments.
