Hi!
So I'm starting to battle the harder challengers in Tiers 11 and up, and many of the strategies seem to rely on chain freezing. My current chain freezing set is as follows, but I wonder if there are better options out there? (These may be a bit on the dated side)
I also have a few freezing scrolls, but I wonder if there aren't better chain freezing weapons?
Thanks! ^-^
As far as chain freezing goes, scrolls are you best bet so I would invest in the AP to equip as many as you can. However, there are some high tiered opponents like meatslab the furious that cannot be frozen or opponents like Prakerash that have so much health it is hard to chain freeze.
Depending on your pet's speed, you could try that has a % chance to freeze. The higher your speed, the better the chance to freeze.
There's also the that is a 100% freezer and offers freeze protection for 2 turns.
has a % chance to freeze but it is rare.
will also freeze, but offers no % heal
also has a medium chance to freeze, but like the vortex is OPB
The last one I can think of is but that is pretty much unobtainable unless you already have one.
There are also chain freezing scrolls with decent odds to freeze:
Gelaspell Scroll 9% chance to freeze (From Subetalodge) But no healing.
Unstable Fairy Scroll Scales with speed. (Again, stats from Subetalodge) 1000-1999: 60% chance of blocking 50 ice 2000-2999: 70% chance of blocking 45 ice, 6% freeze 3000-3999: 75% chance of blocking 40 ice, 8% freeze ...and <50%HP: 5% healing 4000-4999 speed 80% chance of blocking 35 ice, 10% freeze ...and <50%HP: 7% healing 5000+ speed 90% chance of blocking 30 ice , 13% freeze ...and <50%HP: 10% healing
Many extremely hard and impossible difficulty challengers have freezing disabled or long lasting antifreeze blessings, so actually freezing usually isn't a reliable strategy for most of them, except in the opening moves.
Chain freezing can only e accomplished with scrolls.
Chain freezing is when you freeze multiple turns in a row, so the opponent never gets an opportunity to hit back.
It would take thousands of battles to get a chain freeze with a couple weapons that only freeze 10% of the time.
If you can get ahold of 8-10 freezing scrolls + enough AP, its a good strategy, if not I wouldn't really bother with it.

Thanks for all your helpful input, everyone! Looks like I'll be focusing on building up some more AP for now, though it looks like I might be better off investing in specific weapons for specific opponents. Guess I'll bite the bullet and buy a Natasha @-@
