Forgive me if this has been posted before; I couldn't find it anywhere!

I would love it if the items locked in my inventory didn't show up as options at the Asmodeus Genetech Lab. I almost combined a really expensive item on accident xD

I guess it's a good idea, since locked items should be protected. :)

Support. The entire point of locking items is to prevent them from accidentally getting used in stuff like this, so it surprised me that they still showed up.

I don't agree with this. The Genetech Lab is supposed to be dangerous and mysterious both. It's a lot harder to mistakenly combine something instead of accidentally clicking "zap this" (and it's harder to zap things now, too). Put a warning on it if you must, but don't extend the Inventory lock.

@ Solsticesprite Literally every other place on subeta hides and protects your locked items. Trades, zapper, gift center, Rotten Rogue events before they were removed... There is no real reason for the lab to be unique for the sake of "risk". Especially since the lab does not (afaik) destroy non-valid items for an attempted combo, so mis-clicking and picking a locked item is just really annoying. There is no risk or danger behind it, unless your locked item is part of the combo you're trying to make. The locked items just get in the way while combining.

Full support for the suggestion.

there's no real reason absolutely everything without exception about Subeta has to be the same for the sake of "safety". Subeta's a game.

You have to work at it to combine something you've got locked so I don't understand the rest of what you wrote. If you can't remember something that is valuable in your Inventory it wasn't that valuable to you.

I agree with the OP's suggestion - locked items should be unavailable to use in any areas that require you to pick out items (Genetech lab, making flower bouquets as previously mentioned, etc).

If it works in some areas (I can't send a locked item as a gift in the Arctic Frost, I can't see any of my locked items at the fragmentizer), then logically it should work in all areas, as why would anyone think otherwise?

I've never understood why locked items were all mixed in with the rest. At the very least, display them in a box at the bottom like they are in the inventory.

Is consistency that evil? Should a game not be consistent with the game mechanics it has previously set up in other similar areas?

As for working to combine something - working, how exactly? Looking it up on Subetalodge, or checking the forums here? Genetech combos aren't a secret. Or is clicking a checkbox working? My point still stands - the locked items get in the way and there is no reason for them to be there while you're combining items because no other area on the site that takes items has them displayed.

The only risk and danger here is the risk and danger of getting annoyed at a site mechanic that works in all places but one.

Whew, I always thought if you got a combo wrong, it'd eat up the items xD Well, that's a relief! It would still be nice to not show them, in my mind, but I'm less terrified now. Thank you for all the input!

I support this, OR the suggestion to put the locked items in a separate section. There's little to no chance of accidentally combining a locked item since the combinations are all specific, but they still get in the way. Since there aren't any REs that destroy items anymore, I don't really see a need to show the items at all but if they can't be hidden for some reason, it'd be the next best thing to separate them.

Full support for this. I cringe inside every time I see my locked items on that checklist.

You can't make invalid combinations, so I don't see the problem here?
