Ok so I was checking my outgoing mail from my site mailbox and I accidentally clicked the username link. It opened a new tab for Time Warner Cable:
Caution
http://www.dnsrsearch.com/index.php?origURL=http%3A//profile.php/%3Fuser%3D366994&r=&bc=
Is that supposed to happen?
It shouldn't happen. If you enter that domain name in google, you can find out more info about it. (It's not good)
Also, I'd suggest enclosing that link in a spoiler so people don't go there without knowing what it is.
- If I just closed the tab, would I be ok? Going to clear my cache and stuff now just to be sure.
You can close the tab and avoid entering searches in that site, but I don't think the problem would go away unless you do something about it.
Google search results indicate either it's malware or the ISP doing it (strangely enough). If you don't have TWC for your ISP, then I suspect it's the first cause.
- I actually do have Time Warner for an internet provider. Here in Hawaii its pretty much all we have :(
I'd call their customer service and ask what the heck is going on. Seems like a similar story to here, although I can't say for sure: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28670779-Internet-dnsrsearch-com-DNS-redirect-by-TWC-Bing-users-only
