Anybody watch Asian dramas? K-dramas, C-dramas, J-dramas, Thai dramas, Taiwanese dramas, etc.?
Recently I've been watching the k-drama, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. It's super cute and funny! In general, I enjoy period/costume dramas, especially ones with psycho royals/nobles, court intrigue, and convoluted revenge plots XD I also like fantasy, martial arts (like wuxia or xianxia), and maybe the occasional romantic comedy.
I'm planning on watching Medical Examiner Dr. Qin, maybe Sparrow too (they're both Chinese thriller dramas). Zhang Ruo Yun is quickly moving up my list of favorite actors. Plus I think he's so handsome ❤️ Eye Candy ❤
What about you guys? Any favorites? What genre(s) do you like to watch? Any movies? c:

yes!! though i only manage to actually finish one once a blue moon.
i religiously consume romcoms (well, movies, though it used to apply to dramas as well D8), but the last few have been on the more serious side. the most recent dramas i've gotten through are Tomorrow With You (has a lovely OST!) and Another Oh Hae Young, both are slow but pleasant (and still heavily romantic aha).
there's also Battle of Changsha w/ Wallace Huo, which i love to death but haven't finished. i've also been meaning to watch Love Me If You Dare, which is in the same vein as Medical Examiner Dr. Qin! i'm very tempted to give Sparrow a watch, too.
i love the humor in period c-dramas, but the one thing they have in common is they all suddenly turn grim halfway through :l Gilded Chopsticks and The Proud Twins are the offenders, but i still find myself rewatching the earlier episodes every other year or so.
Yeah, I dislike that about c-dramas too. Especially the melodrama ones (looking at you, Scarlet Heart 2) Everything's all fine and dandy, and then o_o I have a bad tendency to watch the first twenty or so episodes and then suddenly stop watching once the plot gets too crazy. My list of unfinished dramas keeps growing...
I loved the Proud Twins/Handsome Siblings! (I remember seeing that on the local Chinese cable channel when I was a kid lol.)
Wallace Huo is definitely another hottie! He'll forever be White Tofu hehe. I want to watch Journey of Flower but keep putting it off...too afraid of potential craziness.
If there was a list of dramas with sweet and simple plots, I would be onboard immediately xD

Same u__u I also formed a bad habit of just reading the plot synopses and endings before starting one, because the seemingly happy dramas have fooled me one too many times.
Yes! It's the only drama I can remember catching on broadcast TV, so there's a special memory attached to it.
He is. The Journey of Flower's also on my plan-to-watch list. I'll just jump ship if I feel like it's going to take a turn for the worse haha.
Right? It'd be a dream ;v; There are a few K-dramas floating around now that would make it onto that list, but I can't think of any C-dramas that do. I've heard Go Princess Go is a fun watch, though.
Go Princess Go looks freaking hilarious. My sister showed me a clip of a super pretty 9th prince. I think that scene was totally poking fun at the flower boy thing that is big in Asian dramas XD Though I do like pretty boys haha, especially with long hair/ponytails~ But only in fantasy or period dramas.

Go Princess Go IS freaking hilarious!!! If it's anywhere on your watchlists or , don't pass up!
What's interesting is that it's actually a low-budget web-drama but the production quality/acting/script/simple plot is so good you won't be able to tell all that much, even with the hilarious, sometimes ridiculous points like costumes (aka the main guy's literal plot armor xD)
I loved that the drama never took itself seriously, and it's short episode lengths made it easily addictive. The 9th prince was beyond pretty, his glowing entrance is almost comparable to Arwen's from LOTR, and the epic Enya-like music ahahaha!

i hadnt even seen the 9th prince yet!! for once i kept myself away from spoilers but wow he is gorgeous D8 the long haired pretty boys is my favorite part! [] i absolutely wont pass it up!! the episodes are short so i'm pretty sure i'll end up bingewatching ;; it's nice to know the humor's going to be there the entire time, and that it doesn't just suddenly drop halfway through for those obligatory Tragic Events 8(
I fell into kpop first years ago, which led me to k-dramas. My first one was School 2013. Still my fave to this day, lol. Sooo good. And Jongsuk and Woobin <3 I also really love Full House Take 2. I don't watch k-dramas too much, tbh. I keep meaning to start Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo because it looks super good and I love period pieces, but IU is in it and I really dislike her for whatever reason... I have been watching a lot of Thai dramas lately! I love them. Mostly I watch a lot of bl shows. lol xD Some other k-dramas I have watched or started watching are Blood (need to finish), Doctor Stranger (also need to finish), My Love From The Star. OH, I really wanna try Rooftop Prince and Kill Me, Heal Me as well. Thai dramas I love are Love Sick, Make It Right, Sotus, 2 Moons....and those are all BL shows. blushes haha I have watched a few Taiwan and Chinese shows and some Japanese shows too, but not many of either.
I do like IU as a musician, but from what little acting I've seen her do, it's...eh...not good, I'll just say. I was excited at first for Scarlet Heart Ryo too (Lee Junki wheeeeeeee~ ❤) but I read that the ending was terrible, so I'm probably gonna skip out on it haha. I wish period dramas had more happy endings ;^;

i didn't know there were so many thai bl shows! i watched a few thai dramas (well, mainly just one and a couple eps of another) a while back and i loved them in spite of all the melodrama. i was super close to watching love sick because i saw a trailer with pete/vachiravit in it buttt i forgot about it forever until now _
+1 with min's ;; i'd recommend moonlight drawn by clouds if you're looking for a good time and/or a period drama! the first ep didn't stand out much, but after that i just recall laughing a lot. i loved the characters.
I watch a lot of K-Drama's, the occasional Thai-Drama and a few Chinese Dramas. So far my favourites for the last ten years has been Korean Drama's. The first drama I remember watching was Coffee Prince with Gong Yoo which aired in 2007.
Still one of my all time favourites! The Secret Garden was and still is a lovely drama to watch and I adored Goblin the Lonely and Great God. Another Miss Oh/Another Oh Hae Young was hilarious and heart wrenching at the same time. K-2 is wonderful, and a YouTuber I watch is in there as well! Cinderella And Four Knights is a good one too.
The Good Doctor was the last one I watched. I haven't watch a lot of Korean Drams but the ones I really liked were Coffee Price, Boys over Flowers, 1 Litre of Tears( this one you might need tissues as it is sad), Vampire Prosecutor and Hello Franceska (This one had me laughing so hard)

If you haven't seen Goblin yet, I highly recommend it. I LOVED that drama and binged it.
I liked The Heirs a lot, but it felt very much like a more up-to-date Hanadan. (And I am like...super faithful to the 2005 japanese one LMAO)
is always sassing me
