i'm relatively new to subeta (you can probably tell by my avatar lol), and fresh to the art market scene. i want to get back into digital art, and i feel that opening a small art shop would be the most beneficial way for me to keep up with a rigid schedule, etc. i don't know what the standard price is for HA/human art, and looking around the forums i can find a range from 500 CSC to like 3000 CSC. i'm not too sure if i'd want to ask for USD for my art yet, so i might just keep it to CSC/sP.
but i don't know what a standard price would be - considering the artwork shown below, how would you price it in CSC/USD/sP? (the HA depicted below belongs to Yuzuru and Samaritan)

Conversion ratings are 100csc=$1USD=12mil.
As for pricing based on the image I see I'd pay around $10 (1,000csc or the sP equivalent) for the bust. If the design you were working on was very complex you could always charge more especially since it will take longer to finish.
Another thing you could do is make an auction to see what people are willing to pay for a style like yours. I am pretty sure yours would sell pretty well since the quality is definitely there. Either which way I definitely look forward to seeing more from you. :)

actually, i have another question, if you don't mind answering, concerning the method of payment. for stuff like in-game currency (i.e. CSC or sP)- for USD i get that you use paypal, etc. - how are artists expected to send the art to the recipient as well as receive the currency from the recipient?

It really depends on the currency. Game currency(sP, CSC) is usually dealt with through Trades and USD(as you mentioned) is with Paypal. What I personally do is require half payment after the sketch is finished and then the final payment once the image is complete. Basically you set up a junk trade(sP,CSC comm only) and they offer whatever you agreed on.
At the end of the day it's based on trust but I find doing it this way to be far safer since if they don't pay you after the sketch it isn't as big of a deal as if you finished the image completely without any pay.
As for sending the images you usually do that through smail or comments. Whatever is easier for you. I tend to use smail because I can save all the commission information there and such and use it as a "receipt" in a sense. c;
