LOVE this hat! I wish I could wear it, but even with 20K items in my wardrobe, I can't find a wig that works with it. Maybe make it in two pieces instead of just the one -- like you did with the beach hats?
That's actually why we split some hair up this year, was so that we had something that fits under hats/hoods/etc. We're planning on doing more this summer (during our lull between holidays) to fit lots of hair colors and what not!
I'm all for splitting them, honestly! I just didn't want to spam the shop with six different versions of the same two hats.
Long term, splitting the hair like you did is better ! Because it'll fit better for not just hats but a large range of things. Splitting up on or two hats doesn't help all the poor lil hoodies and jackets out there
As lovely as it is to have split up hair for hoods and older items., having the hats split up too gives way more layering freedom.!I would not at all be bothered by dozens of versions of the same hats, six isn't so bad. They're really snazzy and I'm bummed I can't use the wigs I'd like with them.
Perhaps a 'neater' solution would be to make the item transformable between the three versions so we just have to buy two of them if we want to layer them? idk I just really want these split! <3
i also greatly prefer two-piece hats over several fiddly little hair bits. i like the hair bits, don't get me wrong, they're very useful for a variety of purposes. but i think two-piece hats are neater in the end, and they make it possible to use that hair that's just the PERFECT color or style but doesn't fit under the hat in one piece.
What about transformable ideas?
I love the hats, love the hair pieces for layering but even then it really does limit you to a handful of colors and the same styles.
The benefit of doing this with the hats / hoods etc themselves is that users can then use their favorite hat with their favorite hair.
With the hair extensions, you can use your favorite hat, but.... What if there are no extensions that match your favorite wig?
What are the chances that extensions will come out in all the colors people want to use to layer with hats? And then what are the chances that those extensions will cover CW hair colors?
Because while this idea is great for site items, when it comes to custom wearables it's a "okay well then you can spend $50 to make this wearable with your favorite hat."
Unless of course we're going to get a super cheap hair extension category for cws (and I really doubt it, since wigs are automatically the most expensive category regardless of size or shape) I personally would much prefer the hat to be split into different pieces. And then if staff still wants to release extensions too that's fine but it shouldn't be the full solution imho.
