The only public drawing board I know of is iscribble, which I'm glad is still around. However, I cannot remember the name of the other site I used to visit. I remember this one specific drawing site where you could draw pictures for comments on other people's drawings. You literally drew the comments instead of typing them. Anyone know what that site is/was called?

I used to love to draw on oekaki boards, which are no longer popular it seems. I only use one, which is sutaro's sketch oekaki. I used to draw on oekakicentral, but it has been practically abandoned, sadly.

Are there any other good drawing communities?

man I miss oekakis, i used to go on one called smeargle's oekaki when i was a kid. i always wanted to make one as an attempt to bring back hype/start a community, but never knew of/had the tools to do it.

as for things like iscribble, nothing comes to mind unfortunately. I'm not even sure if there are many sites like it, as far as i know haha

i personally prefer oekaki applets over photoshop-like programs. Way simpler with most of the same tools, and you can share images easily with others.

are you thinking of tegaki e? that's the only thing i can think of with drawable comments

i used to draw on oekakis a lot too and i miss them ): one that i used to frequent still has a community but the drawing applets don't work with the newest java so you have to draw with something else and upload to the board and it kinda defeats the purpose of oekaki...

yeah that's not it. I've never visited that site though. YES. That's it! I couldn't think of that name for the life of me. Thank you! Which one is that? Yeah that really does defeat the purpose, sadly. Like I said, I still use Sutaro's oekaki (SSO). ;)

lol np. ive only drawn there a couple times myself but i used to keep up with artists i really liked on there and it was an interesting concept

pichu's world! i've been on it for years but it was pretty active again around 2009-2012 because there was this rp board that got relatively popular and kept it relevant for a while after oekakis starting dying out. before that i would draw on mew's hangout, and at some points my friends would make oekakis that id join too (i also had my own board for a while haha). i never went to sro/sso but i was a fan of eevee1's art at the time so i was pretty familiar with her site lol

Oh ok. How does one make an oekaki board anyway? I remember pink poogle toy (PPT) oekaki that I used to draw on around ten years ago. I do love eevee's art. Especially since I suck at cell shading lol. I'm actually surprised that oekakis went out of fashion. Guess people prefer advanced drawing programs.

I used do go on pchat boards a lot! You could try out Nicos Paintchat, I think it's still active and I used to frequent Mangamasters as well, but not sure if it's active anymore. These are boards sort of like Iscribble where you all draw on one canvas, but it's bigger and there are more options available. The only issue I run into with them is that certain Java updates won't work with them, and if you have a mac the Jtablet download to get pen pressure might not work. Aside from that I know some artists have been flocking to Drawpile. I've only tried it once, but it may be worth looking into.
