Could this be a joke?

Allow me to direct your attention to paragraph 1, end of line 2 :

Next allow me to direct your attention to the Goals of this proposed meeting. Note the number of tribal members this entity plans on meeting with to achieve this goal. Six

On White Earth alone there are about 10,000 residents. The Anishinaabe are the second largest tribe in North America. I don't think six tribal members representing the majority is gonna cut it. And if this plan is to find six people qualified for an archelogical search along the preferred route the land mass they will need to inspect is huge. Employing only six individuals for something this monumental is illogical.

If I'm reading this right, Enbridge Energy LLC (the muscle flexing it's multi-billion dollar bankroll behind Dakota Access Pipeline) wants access to any body of water on or off unceeded treaty land as well as the ability to lawfully enter all tribal lands it's deemed necessary for construction of the new pipeline to replace Sandpiper. They also want a permit to dump any discharge, dredge, sludge or fill into the lakes and wetlands the proposed pipeline route comes in contact with on it's way through Minnesota.

That's not right. Even if I wasn't part of the first nations or if I hadn't seen the cruelty the people representing Enbridge are willing to show their fellow man I would question it. If they're such an upstanding energy efficient entity why do they need these permits?

Both maps are part of Enbridge's Sandpiper (Line 3) section.

And as you can see by the map that proposed route is placed directly along side White Earth.

In order to help myself understand what they might need the permits for I made two overlays containing both the proposed route and a map of the area. I've used an overlay of the county lines to resize the comparisons to be as accurate as possible and keep them to scale

Knowing how this entity operated, it concerns me to see how the proposed route seems to overlap with White Earth. I'm going to have to find more points of reference on the Sandpiper Proposal to make sure. It also is routed through state land which I thought was protected. Then I realized just how much trouble this is going to cause.

Itasca. The preferred route will put the pipeline through Itasca State Park.

Another thing I discovered :

If these permits are granted and the route mapped is used for this thing and the same tactics are used at our camp that they deployed at Standing Rock it will be a disaster for everyone I know.

I'm going to keep on digging for more facts. I pray the "meeting draft" is a hoax and there are no such applications in play. Everyone here is already on edge, maybe I can find something to ease the tension. Wish me luck bears and please, pray for us. If this happens, we're in real trouble.

This is gut wrenching. Wish I wasn't a retired senior and had more monies to be able to help but as it is all I can do is pray and be of support in my heart. This world is nothing like what all the possibilities in my mind say it could be.

I just can't wrap my head around this. How corrupt people can be when money is involved. It truly is the root of all evil. I just don't understand how they can look at themselves in the mirror while all this suffering is a direct result of their actions. Karma will get them in the end. I pray every day that this country will wake up and right the wrongs that are happening all over. hugs and strength to you, my dear friend You are amazing. ❤

Hey Mama Bear ~ We totally understand your pain. Where I live we have a gov't that screws over the citizens for the sake of dirty resource kickbacks. Canada's worst mining disaster happened in our province thanks to a company that was negligent and allowed their tailing ponds to burst entering the local watershed. (No fines and No criminal charges for the company and the taxpayers get to eat the 40 million dollar clean-up bill). That same company just got a secretive permit that allows them to dump all their TOXIC mining waste from another mine, (inclusive of poisonous heavy metals), into another local lake which acts as the water source for the entire area. Call it what it is...thirty pieces of silver for corrupt gov't officials.

We have an election next week...we pray for the best outcome as I do for you. Getting rid of gov't trash is the only answer to this rape of the Earth. 🐻 ❤

Yes Laurie, you certainly have our prayers here. I hope this can be stopped.

I am constantly thinking about you and sending positive energy your way. I hope this can all be resolved and these asshats will stop messing with Mother Earth. She's the most important resource we have as human beings and treating her like this makes these companies look like some evil movie corporation that you thought was just fiction but is actually real life. It saddens me and makes me sick.

Tomorrow in Seattle, we block all branches of Chase bank. They finance this abomination, and we intend to make it a very bad proposition for them. We starve the snake. They like their money, fine. We hit them in the money.
