Katatherick

31,045 EXP Points

Buy Strength (500 EXP) Buy Defense (500 EXP) Buy Health (600 EXP) Buy Speed (500 EXP) Buy Level (400 EXP)

That is the info for my battle pet atm but I'm still gaining EXP points but not as fast as I'd like. I'm just not sure if I should be saving them for a later point or using them atm.

I'm just going to offer my two cents. There are several approaches to this so perhaps there will be other battlers coming here to offer their insights. It will then be left to you to decide which would best suit with your circumstances and personal plans. First, I think it will be helpful to know whether you're doing battle quests daily. 1. If you don't do BQs and don't want to: Then my suggestion would be to hold on to your EXP until you reach a higher tier where training time increases, and you gain very few stats per day (around T8-9). The reason behind this is: looking at your current EXP:stat ratio, your pet is still at a stage where training time is reasonably short, and it will take shorter to gain lots of stats this way. Using your EXP to buy stats at this point can buy you many, but your training will catch up very quickly and if you only do battling during events and in the battle coliseum, you won't have a lot of EXP to buy more stats as your pet grows, and eventually the EXP source would run out soon. 2. If you do BQs: If you're doing BQs then I'd suggest that you start thinking about what your final build would look like. Is it going to be perfectly even, or are you going to prioritise one or two stats more than others (e.g. having more health than the rest, or having high health and high attack)? If you plan on having an even build, hoarding EXPs from regular battling and doing BQs until your pet reaches T7-8 when training time increases significantly is what I'd do myself. However, if you plan on an uneven build and like to have one or two stats much higher than the others, I'd suggest investing your EXP in those stats as soon as possible, since you can buy more of them at lower levels and you will have an unlimited source of EXP to invest in the long run.

Depends on if you want to see a big stat gain or a little stat gain over time. Back when my main pet was T7, I saved my experience and boosters so I could jump from T7 to T10. I also wasn't able to beat all of the battle quests so I wasn't getting as many stats from experience on a daily basis as I am now. I also had more training sessions during the day so I was gaining more stats through the training center and boosters. Now I spend all day for just one or two training sessions and can beat all of the battle quests so I gain more stats from experience instead of the training center. Now I use my experience daily since I do battle quests daily and gain more stats per day that way.

It is entirely up to you when you use them. If you want to gain a little more stats per day or wait until you have a ton of experience saved up and use it to boost to a desired tier. It makes it a little cheaper to boost as well since you won't have to buy as many boosters. The one thing to keep in mind though is as you go up in tier, the cost for experience also goes up. I think the price goes up by a small amount until you hit tier 8. Then I think tiers 8-10 cost the same amount until the price goes up again at tier 11. Tiers 11 and 12 cost the same amount but T13 the price to buy stats with experience triples. Definitely use your experience before you hit T13

Okay, so for now I'm hoarding my exp points. I would have replied sooner but the replies brought up an interesting issue. I never set a goal tier at all. I was just training because I could and because I want to keep Katatherick improving but it might be good to aim for a short/mid term goal. Ultimately I just want to keep him improving but I want to get him to a point where he can beat approx 2/3 of the regular challengers without too much hassle. Just not sure what tier that might be.

It's not just about stats , keep in mind it's also about your weapon set. I know quite a few people that train every day and then boost to tier 10+ but are still using a tier 6 set and don't have the funds to upgrade weapons and scrolls. Keep in mind that as you go up in tiers you will want to upgrade your set so your pet can use better weapons. A lot of my high tiered weapons I had before the tier system was in place so I spent a lot of my time hoarding boosters to do one big boost for my pet so he could use my full armory again. If you are still saving up for the more expensive weapons, it's better to hold off on boosting until you are ready.

Yeah I've just reached T5 and I'm working to get to 500 even and hope to have a new set by then. Sounds like I might just be going for either something basic to upgrade and I go along or just replace entirely as I approach T7. Any suggestions for a T5 set for 50mil or less (if possible)?

Unlocked Taking from the Lizards! Take an item from the Lizards with a Lizard Minion Trap!

You notice a Bloodred Magnus Elixir on the ground, but right when you bend down to pick it up, lizard minions come out of nowhere and scurry off with it! Your trap springs and you spray like mad as the lizard minions escape. They will not get away this time! You place Bloodred Magnus Elixir into your inventory.

Not quite the item I was hoping for, but I'll take it.

These topics will have what you're looking for to upgrade your set: [topic not found] The Weapon Guide The first one has suggestions for cheap and medium sets, and the second lists some of the best weapons per tier. You can then pick those that are within your budget. Some of the suggestions might not be up to date, but since you're at Tier 5 and will grow out of this Tier very quickly, the weapons there are still as good as they used to be, especially if you're planning to do regular battling in the coliseum.

I was thinking the cheap set in the first one you posted would be easy and I could even mix in some from the medium set. I was just uncertain whether those recommendations were still valid given how long ago the info was posted.

The set info listed in the first topic isn't really valid as it is, because you can't have multiples of the same item in your set (apart from some one-use items anyway). There are some good suggestions, though, like Forj Tempered Kusarigama, UltimaPlus Tag (which heals and might steal and freeze too), Recycle Blaster (which turns one of your opponent's weapons into junk) and Phoenix Quill (which gives a full heal once during battle and is useful for a long time as your pet goes up in tiers). Also Reviver of the Lion (healer), Soma Tablets (blaster) and Replica Minotaur Knocker are good for higher tiers as well, so you don't have to replace them immediately at next tier and you'll get more bang for your buck ^^ On the other hand, the Kusarigama and UltimaPlus Tag are much cheaper and good for now, but your pet will soon grow out of them.

In addition to the weapons listed in Quest's topic, you might want to get a freezer (like Gorgun or Gate Keeper Collar of Slavery).

I am not sure what weapons you already have but I can give you some cheap suggestions that can get you through the tier and be ditched once you hit a higher tier as well as worthy investments that aren't cheap, but can be useful even at higher tiers.

Cheap items: Icy Freezing Rod of Doom (freezer - T3) UltimaPlus Tag (stealer, chance to freeze - T4) Forj Tempered Kusarigama (attacker - T5) Shear Sword (attacker with boost - T4) Forj Tempered Shield (semi-breakable - T5) recycle blaster (blaster - T5)

Worthy investments: soma tablets (blaster - T5) Replica Minotaur Knocker (scales with your pet T1 - T10+) Reviver Of The Lion (almost full healer - T5) phoenix quill (full healer - T1+) *Rainbow Vortex or Shinwas Temple Shard (full blocker. the rainbow vortex has medium chance to freeze and scales with your pet up to T5 when it reaches its full block potential)

*You can get through battling without full blockers and the other items I listed are definitely more helpful. However, they can make battling the tougher opponents easier until you have enough stats to brute force your way through opponents.

My current set (if you can call it that) is cheap, incomplete and fairly lousy.. Armored Groblen Cursed Demon Sword KT Ring Shrine of Apollonia Ruffie Healy Bones

Which is kinda why I'm looking to build a new set but not rich enough to go for top of the line. I do have a question though because I have seen the Soma Tablets suggested here and else where. How on earth do you get them if there aren't any available to buy and what do they go for when one eventually does appear?

They are in the Antique Shop for ~62m - click on the Reading Drive tab and scroll to the bottom.

I would focus on getting the Phoenix Quill first since you will essentially use it forever. You can afford it after three days of questing :D

Is it worth getting it now or waiting until Summer for the cheaper price? I also made the mistake of looking in the Antique shop and now I have to buy two minions from the Reading drive items. It might help with Katatherick's final look but it could complicate it also.

What can I say, I'm a Leo and can't go past Lion items.

For the phoenix quill you mean in the MC? I would wait until summer since I think it starts in June unless you can find someone willing to sell it to you for cheaper in shops. You can try advertising on the wanted forums and see if someone is willing to sell for cheaper than the MC.
