Could we get a way to organize the event shops by price, OR newly added? Like a little drop down menu asking us how we want the items sorted?
I love the Steamworks Menagerie so much, but I refuse to get any item until I'm certain all the waves are over, because I lose track of what I've bought. Going through each individual item and checking if it's in my account isn't any fun either. However I'm so happy that it's sorted by year instead of category (that was a long time ago, still haunts me).
A dropdown menu would be usefull for users who mainly acess the site on their phones. Otherwise simply adding everything you want to your WL and removing it when you buy the item should be an easy way to prevent double buying.
So, I mildly support this idea but do not see it as a high priority thing
I'd like it if things could be organized chronologically -- when the items are released in multiple waves, it can be kind of awkward to keep combing through the shop to buy it or put it on your wishlist. Especially if you're like me and have a terrible memory for what was already there and what wasn't, lmao.
Completely agree with this.
Sorting by price can be helpful when determining how much currency will be needed, but its way more helpful to have it in chronological order to avoid wasting tokens.

That doesn't work unless you wait until all the waves have been released. Otherwise, you remove items from your wishlist as you buy them and a new wave comes out and you're still stuck with having to go through everything that isn't currently on your wishlist.
I would love them to be chronological. Or separated by wave and then price.
you can also go trough the new items in the item directory and WL them from there. If you order them by time added and just go to the last page you more or less have the items from the second wave grouped together. I mean usually there are some new items released between waves making it even easyer to distinguish between them than if you impliment Aludra's suggestion(in wich case there is most likely no devide between where one wave ends and another begins, meaning you still have to remember what the items in the first wave were).
So, still I see no real need for this update unless a lot of people play on mobile (were it is not visible if an item is on your WL) But yea, sorted by wave AND price at the same time might make the proces marginally easyer for the users.
[edit]Sorry for the extra pings
I use the item directory method as well for WL-ing the new event items. But I wouldn't mind seeing the shops reorganized if it's something that could be implemented easily.
It's not really something that would be implemented easily. And we had a few shops that were done chronological and a lot complained, so we can't really switch back to that either.
Luckily, the news posts tell you when we do more waves (we only had two waves this year). So you can go ahead now and buy all the things you need. :)
Thanks for letting me know there was only two waves. With the extension I was honestly thinking there'd be another.
No joke, I didn't know there was an item directory. I usually used Subetalodge but thats getting crowded with custom items. Thanks for letting me know =3
Why its an issue for me (just a minor nitpicky one) is because if I want to buy items through the first wave, I wishlist them, buy them, then unwishlist them. When going through the second wave, I can't tell the difference between new items and ones I already have. Thats all |D
The way the item directory is now, it's pretty much only useful for viewing the newest items that have been added, or for looking up specific individual items to see their uses (like food, minion, etc). I use Subetalodge for pretty much all other item browsing.
I do the same thing though, I'll WL all the first wave items and then undo it once I buy them. But looking through the item directory really does make it easier to see which items are the new ones once the second wave has been released. It's probably the best option for now, since reorganizing the shops would probably be too difficult.
