... and the incredible amount of resolution it lost when I resized it", the documentary.
Well... I need help again. :(
This is my little CW in all it's glory as .PNG (working size 375*750, 300 dpi)

And this is my little CW resized and saved as .PNG (and zoomed 300%)

Is this normal? CW's lose SO MUCH detail when resized?
Thanks for all the incredible help. <3

Yes, when you resize something you're compressing it, and therefore losing some of the details. I highly recommend taking the time to learn how much detail is too much and that will save you some time in the long run! For example, your shading and highlights came out good, but not so much the small little texture details!
Anyways, from what I can tell this is looking really great so far! Keep up the great work!!
it looks gr9! yaa i agree with mels that the funny thing about learning cws is actually learning to put as few details in without killing the overall image. strange innit ;-;

Hello! A graphic designer friend told me a way to save it with a little more resolution ("saving for web" option), so it looks a little better now. Thanks for the insight, I'll apply it on my future works. <3
I would like to ask you guys: do you work on 300 DPI?
Also I added a little dropshadow (it's a hairpin, so I think it's quite finished by now)
Here it is:

And here is a wigless version:

And here's the CI:

I'll summon in here since you told me I could bother you with my questions. <3
THANKS TO EVERYBODY!!! :D

Hii ~ This is uber cute!! :)
Could we see a 125/250 version? It'll give everyone a better idea of what you perhaps may need to change! I love the details in your full res version, but yes resizing in CWs ends up losing LOTS of details haha ~ You can sometimes get around this depending on the size of your CW (compared to the base) and clever use of color to mimic details.
Also, while it may not be a huge deal for such a small item, subeta can be strict sometimes about the whole cell shading deal ~ You might want an extra layer of shadow / define the edge of the shadow a bit more ~
And yes, I do work in 300 dpi! It's just a habit I've formed, so I have no idea how much it really matters in terms of CW sizing XD
@ Bastit This is adorable <3 also, im not supeeer sure bc im not a great cw artist, but i think your CI might need a bit more shading in the face, preferable on the right side bc subeta lighting is from top left ^_^
Thanks so much! I'm SO excited. I was so scared of not being talented enough I was sweating bricks. xD HERE, HERE and HERE are the previews Pika asked for. :)
One of the main problems I had was colour bleeding. I checked a thousand times with a thousand differents colours, PIXEL BY PIXEL and there was no colour bleeding. I resized the file, opened the image to see it and then BAM; colour bleeding everywhere. I couldn't find for the life of me the layer that was causing the problem, but I solved it. Like a gorilla beating the Photoshop with a femur, but I solved it. <3
Since you both mentioned the CI shading thing, I added some extra shading on it, let me know if this is good enough. :)

THANKS!!! <3 <3 <3

@ Bastit i think thats perfect ci shading! but ofc a majority of my cis take forever for "approval" bc i have to constantly fix it. If you can add a tiny bit of light shading on the upper left hair too! They might say something to you about that.
But it looks awesome overall! Good luck to you :*
[edit]and by shading i meant lighten it up a bit on the left hair part!
Ok, added a little more light to the CI. :) <3
That was what you meant? :3

Do you merge your layers before you resize, or just resize? If you don't merge, that could be the reason you're getting color bleeds when you found none in the full size! Looking great so far though! I think the item image needs a bit more work though. The anatomy on the face is really scrunched up together, so I think maybe moving the eyes away from the nose and mouth might help. The highlighting on the hair also looks like solid lines right now, and not like highlights. While in Anime that type of highlighting works, Subeta doesn't really fit the anime shading style so you may need to change it. Last thing I notice is the neck! Make sure that this looks like a 'base' and not a 'headshot'. If the bottom ends oddly and the head doesn't look like a mannequin bust, it can be denied for that! C:
it might be too subtle bc want cel shading!
I'd follow s advice- she knows way more than me!
Ok, after a long, LONG pause, I started working on a new CI. What do you guys think? :3

THANKS!

i think that new ci is bomb :o excellent line work and shading in my opinion! :o
OMG, YES! :D Thanks, I was so scared! xD Thanks so much, really. <3
