I'm terrible at battling and never have sP thanks to my achievement addiction. I don't like to mod my weapons more than once ever. xD (Ain't nobody got time for that.)
I got my ass handed to me by the 7-headed hydra. :( Halp?
Pet: O_o, T10
Set: - - - - - -
Since I usually start off using the DDS, I should probably stuff a different crystal on it.
Scrolls: Cobalt Eternal x3 Singed Stuffing Stinging Swarm Hydra of Tears Divine Denizhen
's T10 pet won against the seven-headed and he posted his weapons here if you want to take a look.
's T9 pet got 5 wins too. She might be able to help you
I can't afford a set like 's, haha. I'm mostly looking for glaring problems with my set, reasonably inexpensive upgrades I may be able to make, that sort of thing. I can't completely redo my stuff. I spend all my time here working, so I don't get much time to make sP. It's kind of crippling, as far as battling goes. I kind of just ... do the equivalent of button-mashing. xDDD I've tried to not have a set that completely sucks, but I have no idea what the "in" weapons are anymore.
Here's what I used. My only advice on your mods would be to switch the healing and freezing baguettes out for parched and singed baguettes, but you might not have enough sP for that.
was giving help on the hydra over here if you haven't looked through it yet: 7-Headed Hydra Help!
I'd be willing to lend you stuff if you really need to borrow anything. You can totally beat this hydra at your tier.
Silly me, I always sell my parched and singed baguettes crystals whenever I get them! Whoops. Is that something you keep on your weapons permanently, or just for certain opponents?
I did browse through the thread, but don't know if the recommended items are better than what I have, as compared to the OP there. I am pretty weapons-stupid. And I always have a hard time finding out the stats (I wish they were just in the item descriptions. I think they used to be, once.)
I appreciate the offer to lend! :) I try to avoid that. I may be able to afford an upgrade or two of my own, depending on the cost. I haven't bought a weapon or scroll in a while. And I'm sure the hydra will be back next year. (I work here, so it's not like I'm going anywhere, haha.)
I'm just really battle-stupid. xD
Yep, you would keep them on your weapons permanently. Some people choose to switch them out, especially in favor of critical strike crystals during boss battles, but not everyone.
I think your set is good for the most part. I would switch out Riptide and Acorn bomb in favor of Recycle Blaster and Blackmoon Hand Blaster. They blast two of your opponent's weapons into junk.
I think it would be wise to at least borrow an Aftershocks scroll from someone. The consistent defense and healing would be beneficial. If not, I would use your Divine Denizhen instead. Your Cobalt Eternals will also be very helpful. I wouldn't use the Stinging Swarm or Hydra of Tears.
For my set, I used Oracles Short Sword because it does a three turn blessing that heals 1,000 HP. If you can get it to activate, the free healing helps a lot. I also used two Shriek of Despair scrolls to freeze and a Gift of the Forj for one turn of 1,500 HP heal.
-- could you tell me the stats for the 7-Headed Hydra? I have the medal to unlock it, but I'd rather not if my pet stands no chance. Thanks!
Nah, I think 's point was that a T10 could get to 5 wins. He said in his post that he didn't have to rely heavily on some of his godlies. If a T9 pet could get to 5 wins then a T10 can definitely do it.
First here's my summary of the seven-headed's weapons and icons:

Mighty boom

Quick Jab 10-15 :dmg:physical: 6 :dmg:magma: 6 :dmg:dark: 3-8 :dmg:earth:

Slow Roll Scroll 6 :block🔥 6 :block:magma: 6 :block:light: 6 :block:dark: 6 :block:earth: 6 :block:physical: Heals 150HP
Blessing Steamed up (? rounds) 5 :block:wind: Protects against freezing I don't know which weapon(s) triggers the blessing yet.
Blessing, curses and freezing all enabled. Stealing disabled.
Looking at his weapons you'll want to deal ice/water/wind since he doesn't block those (or block very little wind with his blessing) while blocking earth/ physical/ fire/ magma / dark, probably in that order.
I'd replace the Acorn Bomb and Riptide in your set with the which makes for an excellent budget Riptide replacement which deals more icons, blocks more damage and heals and has a chance for a curse that deals 15 icons over 10 turns. Better still if you can get your hand on a which offers more reliable fire block. If you want to go defensive then you can opt for either one of the following shields: It'd also help you a lot to blast one or two of his weapons into complete junk. A cheap one is or if you want to make long-term investment, the is much nicer for its chance to freeze, curse and bless.
Now onto mod crystals, I personally find having 2 crit mods equipped is good enough. I'd fill the rest with and perhaps for added defence and offence. The heal offered by the Healing mod crystal is not reliable enough imo.
So my suggested set would look something like this:
Scrolls Divine Denizhen Cobalt Eternal x3 Rest would be Perilous Whirlpools
Ideal set (if you can borrow someone from the borrowing and lending thread) A solid earth block such as or you can pair your Trident with the Cursed Liquid Fire Torch.
Strategy would be freeze first turn, then double blast his weapons, or if you've got only one blaster, it would be blasting and setting up curse (in which case bringing a Rapier of Terror into battle instead of a second blaster would also be a possible solution). Then hit him with your two attackers until your health is down to blue, then go defensive by using one attacker + one shield until your health goes up to green again.
I haven't tested this with a T10 pet yet (because none of my pets are T10) but your stats are very close to T11 so I think you can easily pull 10 wins with the right strategy.
Okay, I've made a few changes. Swapped out the Acorn Bomb and Riptide with a Recycle Blaster and a Prodigy Staff. RB has a Parched Baguette and PS has a crit strike crystal and two parched baguettes. Had enough AP to add in one Perilous Whirlpool into the scrolls.
I've got two wins. I'm clawing my way to them with a few losses, too, but hey! Progress!
