The lag picked up around 2:30AM (8:30pm Subeta time) Monday night (March 27th) for me. Since then, it's been constant, randomly peaking and then dying down.
Half the time pages don't load, or they stop loading on their own and leave a new tab. No blank page, no error, no URL at all - just an about:blank in the URL field. Forum topics either don't load at all, or take several refreshes and a lot of waiting to load. Accepting dances is laggy, slow and tedious. It works fine for a while, then it goes back to infini-loading and stopping the page load. I've tried to pick up an item from the free shop, only for the page to stop loading on me. Somehow, I still got the item. I gave up on my battle quests Monday night because the site wouldn't let me make a turn. Questing altogether is going to be impossible today and my GA is running out in the next day or two. Item previews don't seem to work. Avatars are frequently either broken, or don't load at all.
I don't know what's going on, but it's been way worse than the 504s and the blank pages that were around when Masquerade started. :c
It's worth noting that two of my friends (from the US & Canada) don't appear to have issues.
It happens in Chrome on mobile, Chrome & Firefox on desktop (Windows 7). I have not installed any new addons, I have not installed any new software. The only thing I've done was uninstall Visual C++ 2015 x64 and Subeta worked perfectly fine after that.
[edit] Day 2, still happening. I'm trying workarounds through NoScript and Adblock. Adblocking HAs seems to have helped very slightly, as did noscripting bootstrapcdn.com Edit 2: still have HAs adblocked, but I allowed bootstrap, google-analytics and iubenda to see if that changes anything. So far, no changes besides the HAs helping with less lag.
No issues on my side either, although we share the country (and probably ISP).
I'm west coast US and I'm not experiencing this at all.
:c It's good to know that it's not a huge site-wide thing, but at the same time it makes it all the more frustrating for me and whoever's else is affected.
I don't think it's Firefox. If it was, Chrome on mobile and on desktop wouldn't be having the same issues. I've updated Firefox to 52.0.2 today and I've had the issues today both before and after the update. I did not add any new things to my NoScript or Adblock either. Kinda doubt my ISP suddenly has an inexplicable vendetta against Subeta. Everything worked perfectly fine until last night and I haven't had any network maintenance outages, as they usually tend to do. Every other website works fine. No lag, no delays, everything loads.
The site works fine for a few pages if I leave it alone for ~5-10 minutes or longer. After that, it gets super hard to use - everything lags heavily, images don't load (HAs and items included).
Is this happening only on a mobile device, or on a desktop/laptop too?
@ Reya It's happening both on desktop and on mobile for me. On Chrome and Firefox for desktop, and on Chrome for mobile.
This can be locked. It seems to have cleared itself up and I haven't had any issues since it went back to normal on March 30th. :s I'm guessing it had something to do with my ISP.
