can anyone explain this masquerade event to me? i see threads of people shouting "claim!" and i'm utterly mystified

also - i initially couldn't remember my account info & made a new one thankfully, i didn't really do much with it until i learned about how very strict subeta is w/ cracking down on multiple accounts?? -- YIKES !! it's a perfectly understandable policy i just hope i'm not at any risk...

The threads are to sort of ensure everyone dances and is danced with, and because you need to have at least five characters in a post people often use the word 'claim'. You can say anything you like, but it's expected that you first make your post to 'claim' your spot in the dancing chain, ask the person above to dance by clicking the button, and accept the dance offered to you by the person who posted after. Dancing gives you Lounge and Steamworks trinkets which can be spent at the Libertine Lounge for food and drinks, and at the Steamworks Menagerie for books, wearables, minions, and other goodies.

The event has had some plots in the past, but doesn't seem to this year (at least not yet). So more or less you dress up, dance with people, and collect currencies to buy holiday items.

welcome back to subeta! you really have been gone for a long time - wow! but it's so wonderful to have you back, and i hope you're able to get into the swing of things fairly quickly. the site has probably changed a fair amount since you last played. if you need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask as the community is definitely very friendly! you're welcome to comment or mail me any time if you need anything.

i think the other users have done a good job of explaining the event (far better than i could, as i hardly participate in certain holidays due to time constraints). but from the look of your HA and siggy, you've figured it out!

as for multiple accounts - i've seen quite a number of people (especially in this board) in that particular predicament as well. subeta is definitely very strict about their policy, but unlike certain other sites they don't really ban willy nilly. since you haven't transferred things between the two (it sounds like?) or used it to gain an advantage over other users, i don't think you'll be banned without warning.

that being said, i'm not affiliated with staff in any way so i can't tell you one way or the other. it might be advisible to head over to the ticket center and explain your situation. a UA or other staff member should be able to freeze your secondary account.

I only had one pet on my original account that I didn't get from Adopt R Us and didn't realize/must have forgotten how easy it was to adopt new pets (literally just hitting 'Create Pet') so I transferred one pet between accounts (because I really liked the name), but it didn't have levels or any extra treasure slots or anything. It makes me super nervous,, but I Disabled the secondary one and haven't touched it since. I think I'll be okay... I get that it's not GREAT behavior but hopefully that'll just result in a warning shot type of scenario.

of course! i've been a member of the site - well, actively anyways - for close to nine years now myself, and it's one of the most welcoming communities i've been a part of. i'm glad my comment made an impression on you, though! ❤️

ah, i see - yeah, that of course would be frowned upon, but you're not the first person to have done so. no need to be nervous, i don't think. since you've self frozen the account and have no access to it anymore and therefore can't use it to gain extra items, sP, csc, and so forth, i wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

of course, as i said, i'm just speaking from what i know as a regular user. a user admin or someone else might be able to help you more or put your mind at ease. however, i think you'll be okay and you can continue to play the site actively from your one account.
