I just finished watching Coherence. It's a really pleasing low-budget indie take on the sci-fi thriller genre. Anyone seen it, care to discuss?
I LOVE COHERENCE O My friend and I even named a cw after it (coherent locks).
What did you think of the ending? the movie? did you call it? it's been a while since I've seen it but I still remember the ending vividly, I mean how can you not xD

I found it interesting how Emily was able to hurt herself to get to a better place even though it wasn't exactly herself but herself from a different future.
The movie really shed light on how even our tiny actions influence our futures, our relationships with one another, and who we eventually end up becoming as a person as a result of that.
Awesome! That hair looks really good.
You know what, I did expect that! But the movie had me on edge the whole time, anyway. Amazing work for a low budget film!
SPOILER
From the time she realized the numbers in the notebook were wrong, I was pretty sure about the direction it was heading.
Have you ever experienced a "Mandela Effect?" The sudden "wrongness" that hits you when something you're 100% sure about changes - and on second thought, you can never confirm those feelings because all you have is a feeling in your gut. Especially when all rational evidence points to the contrary.
Even though my life now is pretty alright, I think I would go searching around for something different if I had the opportunity. Sure, everything seems wrong at first - but it'll become normal again after a while. Just like when switching schools, or learning a new skill. It's interesting to think that we have no tangible confirmation that time is as continuous as we speculate it is.
thanks! :3

Nothing that comes to mind tbh. I think it's easy to get false memories from misinformation or just you replaying a certain memory over again and inadvertently changing it without realizing. It's been shown each time you access a memory you alter it in some way. That's not to say we couldn't somehow be skipping through timelines in our consciousnesses without realizing it! It would be a scary thought and realization.
I definitely agree about the uncertainty of time though. c: I love reading up on quantum mechanics and specifically what Einstein called spooky action at a distance.
I think one of the major themes of Coherence was showing the wastefulness of focusing on the what ifs and what could have beens instead of focusing on the current path and the "now." They were never going to show Emily succeeding to integrate in her new alternative life because it would undermine that theme. She wasn't going to get a shortcut to a better life by choosing a different life altogether. It was very poignant. I loved it. 8D
Have you seen Mr Nobody? Indie sci-fi but with a higher budget. I think you would like it. n__n It blew me away. ❤️
