I had some free time lately and have been spend more time than usual on HA making. Lately I have come to love working with the basic hairs in the salon, especially since layering behind HA's has made them so much more versatile.

What has become abundantly clear however is that some of these haircuts are in dire need of revamping. After sorting trough the hairstyles these are the worst offenders. Their offences: Thick or uneven linework, bad shading, gaps between body and haircut(long hairs), defying gravity (mostly pigtails and ponytails)

Please note I am not begging the staff to kill all your favorite hairstyles in the wardrobe, most older hairstyles either need their lines retraced or shading redone. I feel however this could be a great way to include some underrepresented hairtypes like those proposed in Muerte's Male hairs and Axus Black hair for example. Or at least some hairstyles to represent the fashion of this decade.

Yes. All the yes. Lawd, the number of hairs that just need some revamping on the way its shaded kills me. And then the straight bad ones. 😭 Some used to be my favorites. And just adding to the selection would be lovely. When was the last time that happened, outside of the Hair Coupons/redeemable wigs?

Yes please! Revamping some of the older base hairstyles would be excellent (as would adding more owo)

Yes, definitely. I used to use the Salon hair all the time, but it just gets more and more obvious that the art is out-of-date and it's basically impossible to make it work now.

I love how we have so many anime hairs, including one which is just... Sasuke (aka Rebel). It's literally just... Sasuke's haircut. Barely any changes at all. That is so 90s-2000s teen it's actually charming. We've also got Major Kusanagi (Haze). the ol' inteku kamigata aka anime air intake (Mia), and kinda Inuyasha (Dreamer). Not to mention the more blatant Hime and Loli cuts. Oh, and of course we have the pinned-back fringe style - the one nearly every girl in my high school had at one point - that back then I called the Head Tumor (Supermodel).

But yeah, a lot of them look very plasticy and need updating like whoa.

Well, I'm all for adding more basic hairstyles to reflect the current era but I don't know if I agree with heavily altering or removing/replacing these older hairstyles. For example, I still use the Rebel hair, for my character.

To be honest I only spoke about potentionally removing hairs because currently it takes far to long to get even to the bottom of the list of basic hairs (scrolling 4 times),not to mention all the hairs some people have redeemed. I realize now that it is probably easyer to paginate the hairs just like the items. Also the most 'revamping' most hair needs is just reshading and retracing their lines in a thinner pencil size so that they fit in better with the site's current art style(nothing against anime hair people). I will edit my first post to reflect this.

Revamping is good like 90% of the time.

I support revamping. When I signed up, I hated how plasticky the hair options looked and worked my butt off to buy some nice wigs so that I'd never have to see them again.

Revamp the old, maybe add some new ones. As pointed out, a LOT of the old styles are very... weeby, for lack of a better word

I've been wanting to see a revamp of the wardrobe basics for hair, noses, eyes, and lips for a really long time now - either that or just get rid of most of them and turn them into wearable objects at some kind of a "Basics" store or the Grooming Parlor.
