Is there such a thing as Art Trades on Subeta?

Apparently no one likes my art cuz it doesn't sell. And you're not allowed to make a new art shop post for some reason(how the hell are people supposed to find your art shop?) But whatever. I was wondering if art trades (art for art) are allowed and if anyone would be interested? I'm still getting examples together but many of my pets have a picture I drew on their profiles.

you can ping # artsale when you open slots or offer a new option, that's how artists usual get attention/customers . Also you can make your own art group so you can ping people interested in your art whenever you want. I know nothing about art trades, sorry.
How do I ping? I started a group for my shop. Where do I type the ping and what exactly do I type? Do I use my groups tag? Or something else?

Yes, you use the groups tag to ping it, but of course it will reach only the people IN the group, so at first ping # artsale (without the space) from your art shop when you open new slots, and publicize your art group in the first post so people can join if interested. Unlike neopets boards here don't poof after a while so that's why you're not allowed to have multiple boards up about the same topic. If you check my art shop (link in my siggy) you can see that I've opened it in 2014 and it's currently on page 4 but it's still active, I will ping my group again once I'm done with the commissions I'm working on right now and as soon as people post it will be back on page 1. Tip: don't be the last person to post on your board, so you can post again when you have new slots/offers.
I don't think art trades are against the rules, but I'd try actually putting up an art shop thread first. Lia already covered a lot of things I'd have otherwise mentioned.

You're allowed to make a new post of the same type once your original post has reached the third page. Once it has done so, then ping the mini-mod to have it locked.
If you wish to have this eventually be a commission thread as well then please edit the OP. Once the post itself has reached the third page it may be locked.
Also, art trades are not against the rules. Many artists have commission threads and some specify they'll take art trades as well in their commission threads.
As there is another art tread thread open in the freebie thread as well I'll go ahead and lock this one.
