Although I am enjoying meeting wonderful people here, one thing that could really help me (and I figure others) would be a:
note section for each friend
I've had lovely conversations with people, we agree to be friends and then I embarrassingly have difficulty remembering which one is which. In the friends tab, if there was an option to have notes for each friend, then we can put info like -a person's & RL pet's birthdays, -nick names -where we met them -which groups we have in common -anything else we want to remember
A simple text box for each friend that can expand could be extremely useful... but maybe a nightmare to program. I realize it's much easier to suggest than to implement.
Thank you for your consideration.
That would be a cool little feature to have, but I feel like it wouldn't be high enough priority for staff to actually make this. I don't think it would be a nightmare to code but it seems like it would take some effort which staff probably wants to put elsewhere, like fixing bugs in the new wardrobe, etc etc...
For now, have you considered making the notes in a file on your computer, or something? I know it's not the same but it could accomplish the same thing without requiring staff to do extra coding.
I guess what I'm saying is, I think it's a great idea, but in my personal opinion it's not important enough for staff to spend time on it, I'd rather see other things get implemented or addressed than this.

Sometimes small things can make big differences. Making the site more user friendly increases the likelihood people want to remain.
There are different ways to approach things, one can try to prioritize larger issues and ignore the smaller ones that pile up and can give the impression not many things are being accomplished; or, one can divide one's time on small & big, giving the impression things are advancing.
Yes, I can make notes elsewhere; however, it's a pain considering the disabilities I have. I already must zoom in 175% just to function on the site and even then there are issues.
Hopefully the staff will be able to take a bit of time to consider improving user experience... I'd rather have a little bit less items released and have a better working site; however, that's my preference and everyone has the right to their preferences.
I agree with you completely on that last sentence there. I'd definitely love to see more resources go towards coding, instead of just art and content. I think we'd all be happier with a more functional and accessible site.
Keith mentioned that he's going to do a big revamp of the site layout this year. I really, really hope he takes accessibility into account.

Many sites now have the A buttons to help increase size of the text without everything else going astray. Right now I can't even buy/get prizes for Survival from the heart shop because I can't click the button... desktop & tried zooming out then in.
I was trained as a reference librarian & did focus part of my studies on accessibility. Here's the thing... people don't mean to ignore/disadvantage. The truth is that unless one is exposed (be it yourself or people you care about) it's very difficult to even be conscientious about.
Millions and more can be spent making brand new buildings and people don't put allies wide enough for wheelchairs, elevator buttons that are easily reachable, etc. Then they have to spend much more retrofitting... happens all the time. Montreal metros still are not easily accessible, nightmare for parents with strollers, those that have personal shopping carts, canes, etc.
Society in general has a long way to go for accessibility. I try to have a forgive, understand where the other is coming from, try to help the other understand accessibility issues & find a way to move forward for everyone. It's not easy & takes a lot of time, effort, & can cost a lot to retrofit; however, in the long run it makes the world a more inclusive place :)
Nice chatting with you, have photography class to get ready for ;)
We do have a notepad that could serve in this function. You can put anything you want into that and it will save it.

thank you for the tip. I am aware of notepad; however, I use it for other things such as entering code to be able to kiss users for events... which many other people do as well.
The notepad widget accepts sCode so you can put in spoilers to add notes for your friends and that way you won't have to stretch your widget out in order to keep notes there.
You could also set up a gift list (accessible through the Friends page) that has a spot to add a short note about each user on the list. That way it's out of the way but easy to find, it takes about the same amount of effort as having the notes existing on the Friends page itself.
I like this idea. I've got a terrible memory for details and it would be helpful.
I wouldn't use the notepad for this because there's so much there already. And with bookmarks being done away with, I'm going to need even more space in the notepad.
The suggestion to use the gift list is nice, but too much extra clicking and navigating to other pages would mean that I'd probably forget its existence.
