Possibly because it's just so ridiculous imo. It's a group of 'smileys' as they used to be named back in the day but made into a cinema movie...why don't we just have a roadsign movie or a tree movie or...you get my point. Guess it's just really easy to come up with ideas nowadays.

What bugs me the most is the fact it's pretty much the reverse of LEGO Movie's plot, pulling it in a not-so-cool way, where the main character is the "unique" one, and he wants to be "normal" like everyone else.
