I seem to recall on the older wardrobes there was a way to hide or remove the base eyes (like on noses, there is an empty box to entirely remove the nose). However on the most recent Wardrobe format, I can't seem to find anything like that. Am I missing something?

You can layer features behind the "base" layer, hiding them.
