At work at the front desk on a Sunday morning, which is basically dead, nothing at all to do, so I decided to test some of the games and see what's worth playing for profit. I'll probably play a couple not-for-profit too, just because. Aaaand because I'm super bored, I'm going to post here what I get on the ones I play, and some tips I think are good for them. Will this turn into a game guide? Maybe.
Caliph's Tomb Profit: 200,000 sP How: Play each game until you've cleared all the cards and then send your score. Each time you do this, you'll net 20k. Do it 10 times and voila! 200k. Tips: I think the 2nd layout on the top row is the easiest, although it could be different for everyone. You have unlimited time, so think about each move you make. When thinking about what move to make, if it's available, I always choose the move that reveals another card. If a reveal isn't available, my next move is to take away the most cards.
Burrero Basket Bonanza Profit: 250,000 sP How: Play each game until you've gotten a score of 2500 points and then send the score. Each time you do this, you'll get 25k. 10 times makes 250k Tips: I've found counting to be the most important bit in this game. Every 5 good items you pick up, your basket fills up half way; 10 good items makes it full, at which time you push the space bar. When you've got counting down, you can then look the the left of the game and pay more attention to what fruits/veggies are coming. You'll be going '1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Space Bar' in your head while paying attention to which items are coming, avoiding the bad ones and picking up the good ones.
Matlal's Jewels (timed) Profit: 280,425 sP How: I'm not sure what to say for this game because the scoring is so...weird. I got an average score of 28,042.5 points per game. But at some times I got more points for a lower score, less points for a higher score, so I'm not sure how it works. If anyone has more information, please let me know! Tips: I think if you're scoring at least 15-20k in each game, it's worth playing for the ease and amount of time it takes. The thing I like best about this game is that it's easily able to be paused, making it perfect for playing at work, winkwink.
Tubular Tiles Profit: 100,000 sP How: Clear the board and send your score 10 times; each time you'll get 10k for a total of 100k. Tips: Each layout is scored the same - 10,000sP for clearing the board, whether it's easy or difficult, so I tend towards using the Kumos layout each time, because its difficulty is 0.
Cybill Sledding Profit: 100,000 sP How: Get at least 7,000 points (for a 10k profit per game), send your score, repeat 10 times. Tips: It's better to miss a fish/gem and keep going than to grab that fish/gem and smash your head into a rock. When you want to end your game, if you're only playing for profit and have reached 7k points, just smash into something, lol. I used the 'up' arrow to speed down the hill, although if you're not used to the speed, don't bother with it until you're good with the game controls or only use it when you've got a clear path. Remember that the 'down' arrow will slow you down too, good for when you come upon an obstacle and have an 'oh crap I'm gonna die' moment.
Grand Total sP per day: 930, 425 sP (And this is without really putting much effort in. I'm fairly certain I could up that amount to a cool million if I put more effort into Matlal's Jewels.)
Games that didnt make the list
Ziara Raceway, got 4k sP on first game, didn't play more.
Leviathan Harpooning, no points/sP to score.
Net Gain, plays too slowly for my liking - don't know what its scoring is.
Pirate Panic, mouse function doesn't work at all, keyboard function works sparingly (could be just my computer).
Spectrail, not enough sP on first game, didn't play again, and I'm horrible at it.
Street Team, not enough sP and pretty stressful (on my psyche and my wrist lol).
The Bug Game, you can earn 10,000 sP per game and a total of 200,000 sP (playing 20 games), but clicking so much so fast hurts my hand.
Thimblerig, got 8.295 sP on my first game when I guessed the correct cup, but it hurts my eyes to follow.
Card Crusade, I don't really know how to play this one.
Dark Matter Dice, not enough sP to make it worth it, but I really like this game!
Decanter of Indestructibility, no sP/have to pay.
Fishing, no sP/have to pay.
Mind Reader, not enough profit.
Potion Lottery, not a 'playing' game.
Random, not a 'playing' game.
Rock, Paper, Scissors, no profit.
Safe Crack, never gotten the combination so I don't know.
Scratchcards, I don't play these often enough to know if they're worth it, but I'd say not, judging by the few times I've played them.
Slots, not worth it unless you like junk items lol.
Stargazer, never played it.
Stealth Bomber, pay-to-play.
Collections, these aren't really games imo.
2048, I'm not good at this sort of game.
Balloon Sweeper, not with my shit luck.
Blackout, I have no idea.
Bones, pay-to-play.
Divine Discs, can't figure this one out.
Flight Simulator, it's a fun game, but it's not worth it if you're playing for profit.
Item Scramble, this is fun, but not worth it for profit.
Mazes and Mahars, I don't play this because it takes too long for a single game.
Memory, my memory resembles that of an 80-year-old lmao.
Mystic Spindles, I'm not good at any except the easy levels, and they're not enough profit.
Pete Says, if I write down the order the colors/images come up, I could play all day, but it's too much effort lol.
Reflection, again with the 80-year-old memory.
Saheric Slide, I used to have little toy versions of this game I got from quarter machines and I used to break them apart and put them back together with the pieces in the right order. Enough said I think.
Seashell Spotter, When this was an event game, I would copy and paste the seashell image into Paint and then compare the shells side-by-side. I have a perfect record. shiftyeyes
Subeku, oh god, math. runs away
Subeta Tiles, I play this when I remember, because I like collecting the wooden tiles you get from it, but unless you get and sell the rarer tiles, it's not profitable.
Battle Colliseum, I don't consider this a 'game' per-say, which is why it's not included in the list above, profit is variable based on pet level/challengers available.
Item Hunt, I consider this a quest more than a game and it's super profitable on higher levels, but then the bastard will ask for something hella expensive and I get pissed and don't play it for a while.
It's now 2:47 PM and I'm still at work. I get out at 4:30 PM. Still nothing to do. On to quests! I'll not be very in-depth with quests. I think summing it up will work fine, since the basic premise of each is the same.
(Not Included: Battle Quests, Major Drills, Shinwa, Sarah)
Basically, all of the quests except for Alexander are profitable. And you can even squeeze a small amount of profit out of that one if you know how. Quentin is a special case, which is explained below.
Tips for All Quests:
Alexander's Quests: Alexander will ask you for books. Most books are fairly cheap - I usually spend 1500-2000 sP on each one. Sometimes, however, he will ask for books with a value of 40,000 sP and more. Those quests will not be profitable. Therefore, I only do the ones where he asks for books of 10,000 sP and under, because for me, that's an acceptable risk and 95% of the time, I make a profit (however small) that way.
Quentin's Quests: Quentin asks for holiday items, which can be from any Subeta holiday. Sometimes these are retired and very expensive. Those without the sP to spare should only limit themselves to spending how much they're comfortable losing. The immediate sP profit here is very poor. If you can afford it however, do every single one of their quests because they give out Mage Amulets. I usually get 1-7 of these a day doing 15 quests, which although it isn't 'instant profit', will net you about 300k each when sold in shops, so that's another 300k-2.1m!! Or if you want to take a risk, you can turn these in to the Mage in Shadowglen and possibly get a tome in return, which can be used to up your pet's stats.
Weekend Special Quests: Always, always, always do your weekend special quests! These are profitable pretty much all the time, especially when it's Saggitarius or the Wizard!
Usual profit per day: Around 5m sP, if I've done well on Item Hunt that day. Without Item Hunt, I make around 4.2m or so.
My profit today, which was an excellent day: 6.3m from quests, Item Hunt, and games. This isn't including profit from the miscellaneous items and 4 mage amulets I got, which could total maybe 6.5m. Total profit of around 12.8m! Note that this was both an extremely good day and one where I put a whole lot of effort in - this much profit generally doesn't happen, lol.
