Hello fellow Subeta lovers,
I suggest that warnings roll off after a certain amount of time..
I have been a member for some 8 years+, and in the beginning of my account being made, I was ignorant and received 2 warnings... Well, I figure once you get 3 you're frozen, is that right? It's terrifying to think of mistakenly getting a warning for some reason and then bam... I'm gone. I know, I know, just don't do stupid things and you won't get a warning.. But it just irks me that I was so ignorant in the beginning to even get them to begin with. This might help more users with redeeming themselves for the mistakes they have made in the past, but warnings could be logged as well for future reference.
Thoughts, please. :)
I can't find it now, so I might be wrong or getting confused with another site, but I think there was a news post about this kind of thing. Like you can file a ticket about old warnings so they get removed or something?
If not, it's definitely something that should be considered. Ignorance of the rules shouldn't allow anyone to get away with breaking them, but people make honest mistakes, and learn from them. A couple of minor warnings from years ago shouldn't affect whether or not a user gets frozen today.
I've never seen anything about a "3 warnings and you're frozen" rule. I mean, maybe that's right but it would definitely depend on what the warnings were for (for example, I'm pretty sure you can't be frozen for forum signature warnings)
is right though, you can file a ticket and look into having them removed after like a year or something like that. [edit] And my post is showing up blank, that's fuckin cool too -.-
A method already exists for appealing warnings, and a method already exists for striking off old warnings. File a Ticket in Help. Staff here is NOT uncaring or asinine or completely unhelpful like coughneopetscough ...erm some other virtual petsites. (heck, here we have a Suggestion forum!)
Neither of these methods is automated, nor should they be. I don't like the automatic amnesty portion of this Suggestion.
Technically, if I remember right, warnings should expire from your account settings after a year but I have one from the way back yonder days. They remain on your "permanent record" here but I agree, it's disconcerting to wonder when/if you'll hit that third strike.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for this information! That is wonderful! I had no idea there was already a method for taking off old warming... Ah, wonderful.
Read Solsticesprite's response... There's already a process for this! :O I had no idea.
Please, everyone, ignore this... I had no idea there was a resolution for this. I am beyond thrilled to learn this! Thanks again, Solsticesprite.
