I have never released an item before and I have no idea how really. How do I find people for slots?
But I did make a companion and he's ready to go any time. I only have one done so far and that's a Lycanroc. I'd like to the do the midday one as well.
The names of the items would be Midday Stone Companion (not done yet) and Midnight Stone Companion.
Would anyone like to join me on this?
This is my first CW and I walked into it thinking it cost nothing. Whelp hours later is looked like I would have to pay 5000CSC on my own. I tried reading the main guide but it was extremely wordy and I could not make sense of slots... until I was done.
EDIT:
Red/red shading or red/black shading
Well, I know I'm not an experienced artist, but I believe the companion with that type of shading may not get approved. I was comparing it to other CW companions, and the shading differs greatly. Also, you need to create a CI which is the item image.
Here's a pretty good guide made by other artists and releasers :)
- sorry to ping you all, but am I mistaken in my assumption about the shading? If so, maybe the experts can offer some tips ;)
I don't really do art. I'm a writer :P
But by looking at it, it just seems....un-subeta style like. An artist I pinged will hopefully respond back. All of them are extremely friendly. :)
I really like the style, damn. The shading, however, is too soft in my opinion. It needs to show at least 3 layers of cel shading, and the light source comes from the top left. :)
THAT STYLE DAMN. God I love your style. You definitely need more shading tho.
i think this is a great start!!!! i second what sonatine and far said about shading (especially the light source, staff is most picky about that), and you might need a thicker outline around the very outer edge of the wolfie too (:
i think you should have no problem getting this accepted though!
for the tiny image, i would say it needs some harder cell-shading and thicker lines as well, but that's it (:
as for slots, you have 2 options. you can either submit it "direct-to-shop," which will bypass the slot-taking process entirely. you pay 1,600 csc out of pocket (much more manageable than 5k!) and upon acceptance, you get one copy in your inventory. the item is then moved to a personal CW shop (similar to a normal user shop but with some additional features, such as password protection), where you can price it and it will show up in the shop search for people to buy! sometimes if i dont feel like dealing with slots i use this option too, haha
the other option is to find 9 other people who are interested in the item. the easiest way to do this is with ping groups. before you use any groups, you will need to set up your own thread in the main custom clothing forum, since you are not allowed to take slots in the discussion forum as per staff rules :)
after you create a thread (literally all you need is a picture of the item, the price you'd like to charge, and a list of people who want it) there are several user-created ping groups you can use to attract people. each group has their own set of rules and guidelines, and the most widely-used groups are: •cwidea - this is usually pinged to show works in progress and gauge interest on an item. this will give people a chance to see your item before it is released! •customwear - this is the main ping group for people releasing items. i would wait until the item is finished before pinging, and you can ping customwear every 2 weeks for the same item. •1stbatch - pinged when this is the first batch of an item
please note that you have to join these groups for the ping to go through (:
if you have any ping groups where your friends gather, or any fandom-related groups, you can of course ping them to fill slots as well.
let me know if you have any more questions!
Hey! I just wanted to poke in and let you know that your item image needs to be something included in the overlay or vice versa! So for example, if you'd like to keep it a little rock I'd either suggest adding a rock to your overlay, or maybe adding some of the fur to the item! C:
