So I was gone for a while and I've been back for about a month and I don't think I remember how to make money, or I was never good at it to begin with. I make a few thousand from pet jobs (only one has a decent job at the moment), and maybe 400 thousand or so from games....and that's it. I haven't finished setting up my new shop, and I don't do quests for some reason. How much am I missing out on? I mean I know I should be selling things, and participating in quests, but I just feel so out of the loop. Even with playing games I'm not sure which ones are worth playing for good payout. Basic advice appreciated.
Also, what are some fun or unique ways to make money? Can I offer to do art even if I'm not a good artist, and ask for small sP donations? Would people pay small fees for me to help them write stories for their pets? I really don't know how the commerce works on this site. I don't really know what people want or what they'd pay for.
I just need to restore balance on my account. In a short period of time I spent my life savings (only 3mil) and now can't even afford a Silver Potion for the pet I just adopted. I feel a tad silly for this, because I know I'm missing out, but I don't know what the best way is to make money.
Any advice appreciated! Thank you!
I don't know anything about the art market, but I can tell you I made almost 4m from quests today (with a GA, but I skip a few that haven't been as profitable in my experience bc I burn out from doing quests pretty fast). I'd definitely start trying to do those. The Wizard, Carl if you have access, and Saggitarius seem to be the best for me. I do Quentin mainly because of the chance of mage amulets (I also got 2 of those today which is another ~600k but I'm holding onto mine for now)
I see that quests are now painless. I did Sarah's quests until she said I had too much money and sent me to Sagg, who says I don't have enough (lol). I'll start properly doing quests tomorrow I guess, but at least now I had enough for my potion. I'm just really out of the swing of things because I was gone so long.
I think I'll activate a short GA soon to boost my money and use the autopricer to set up my store. I should also probably work on getting my pets promoted....
Other than that, I'm really just curious what creative ways people have found to earn sP.
Oh, is it worth it to sell things to the pawn shop, or is it more profitable to just put them in a store?
Sarah's a good quest for newbies, she won't let you do her quests if you have more than 500k sP on your account (she doesn't count new shop tills though). Saggitarius requires 750k sP and you have to still have 750k+ after buying his items or he won't let you finish.
Sometimes things sell for more to the Pawn Shop than the current SS price but generally I don't think it's worth it. I don't usually pawn anything besides CWs so I don't know anything off-hand that's selling for more there. You'd probably have to price check them all first
Okay. Thank you. You're always helping me! :)
I'll start to be more serious I guess...and not play late at night when I'm tired anymore.
I'll just use the autopricer; I don't have the patience to double check everything with the pawn shop if it's iffy.
Do you have any other quest advice? (I'm sure there's a thread for that already though)
Nothing that I can really think of off-hand (I am also tired lol). Pete + Library quests are the ones I have listed that gave me less sP profits, so I skip those rather than getting burnt out. It wouldn't hurt to try them all until you get used to them/for that little bit of extra sP while you're starting out c:
