Melody's Little Helper snowball requirement?

I know I have Melody's Little Helper, I got it years ago.
Does the Throw a Snowball achievement part of this require you to now fire out all fifty thousand snowballs and all new users are screwed, or is there the same smaller requirement from back when I got it?
As far as I know most of the achievements that require other achievements only require the first tier, or they specify within the description if they require more.

I did 100 snowballs and did not get the Melody Helper achievement so I would love to know this also. I did do all the other achievements so I am assuming it is the 50k tier.
I've completed the first tier of all the achievements listed below (Mysterious Melody, Mysterious Melody Sender, Send a Gift, Throw a Snowball and Visit Melody) but Melody's Little Helper hasn't activated. The only Luminaire one I haven't got to the first tier is Free all the Fairies.
Maybe it doesn't work, like the Gaming Collector achievement.
