Is there any way we could get something for him, please? :( I know maybe a lot of people who play Subeta aren't old enough to really know who he was, but Prince got something, and other musical artists, and he was so important to me. I know Carrie passed away at a similar time, but can't we have something for George too? It's genuinely depressing me.
The artists don't usually make tribute items unless they were really affected by the celebrity's death. If, for example, none of the artists even knew who this was, then I don't think an item would be made. So if one hasn't been made yet then it probably won't be.

Tribute items should be scrapped completely imo.
There's always someone who feels a tribute item should have been made, then gets disappointed when it doesn't. Would be a much simpler idea if none were released..
And these topics are why we try to be mindful of how often we do tributes. George Michael was incredibly important to me as a queer man, and I was devastated when he died. He also died on Christmas, when all of our staff where having time with their families, meaning we couldn't get a tribute out as quickly as we could for Carrie.
If you're releasing something four days later, it doesn't have the same emotional impact, and also feels a little bit strange for us.
Just like we aren't likely to release a tribute for Debbie Reynolds (who also holds a spot in my heart, from my favorite DCOM and also the million times I've seen Singing in the Rain live at the Castro Theatre, here in SF) because we don't want the site to be about releasing an item every time someone famous dies.
This isn't to say that either of them have less value than Carrie Fisher, just that is the tribute item that we chose to make as a team.

I don't agree with that either. These are items that have emotional weight that a lot of items on Subeta (outside of directly related NPC/event items) can't really pack, and are useful for people who feel like they've lost someone. I know that I've appreciated helping come up with them in the past and it's been cathartic for me on this end.
Taking the good (infrequent tribute items) with the bad (sometimes having to shoot down requests for tributes that are close to users) is fine, imo.

I understand that. I guess it just feels like somebody important is being ignored, but I get that you can't possibly make a tribute item for everyone who passes away. Thank you for responding.
- it gets difficult when certain celebrity death tribute items aren't released though, even though I understand your explanation.
I'd personally feel more comfortable not expecting one at all, if that makes sense.
(see, I was surprised/disappointed nothing was released for Muhammad Ali..)
It pretty much comes under the category of 'you can't please everyone', which is always difficult when people are already upset. I dunno, not easy to get the balance right shrug
