I've had this problem for ages so if there's another thread about it still around I can go write on that instead.

On the Your Pets page, in the top right hand corner of each pet's info, there is an icon that looks like a pencil inside a square, next to it is a downwards pointing arrow. Clicking this brings up options for your pet: editing description, editing treasure, books read, food eaten, etc.

However when I click to open any of these option in a new tab (usually with middle click of the mouse wheel), the new tab opens and my dropdown I was using immediately disappears. Like the list of options closes and the pencil icon vanishes. The same thing happens if you decide to close the options list by clicking off of it- the pencil icon vanishes. This makes it impossible to keep using any of the options for each pet without a refresh every time you want to do something.

(As someone who likes to check food eaten and books read at the same time, that's really inconvenient!)

I've tried removing my custom css and it's still happening. On firefox/windows7 and chrome/android it still happens.

I've had this problem for a long time as well.

I always assumed it was designed this way and not a bug, but that said, I would really really like to see it changed as well!

There's some customCSS for a workaround for this:

.dropdown {display:block!important;}

That should work to stop the dropdown from vanishing ;)

Huh. Never noticed that before. That's rather annoying.

Since this can be fixed with custom CSS, surely it's possible to code the page so the menu doesn't close when links are opened in a new tab? It shouldn't be necessary for individual users to patch a problem like this themselves.

I'm just now noticing this problem on mine. It isn't just pet pages on mine either, it is also the drop down on achievements to show the items needed for the achievement.
