Finally have a and I'm looking to mod. What are the best to use on my 4 slots? My battle pet is T11. I'm new to this weapon modification thing!
Also, I think I owe you a couple of weapon mods but I can't remember which.

Weapon mods definitely depend on the opponents you are facing. The best mods to get through battle quests daily I've found for the trident are and . For the recent throwback challengers and going up against opponents like cinthilocks and then chase in BQs, I have modded my trident with 2 parched and 2 bona (blessed armor) so that I will almost always be protected from freezing and a better chance at being protected from stealing.
For weapons with four mod slots, give you a good amount of coverage. The parched help you from getting frozen, singed has a chance for an eight icon curse, and the critical strike has a chance to double your attack damage for one turn. They also add 13 icons to your weapon altogether.
for blessed trident I prefer to use 4 parched baguettes, since many of the opponents its useful for need freeze protection, and losing because of dropped freeze protection sucks. It's also decent water damage for mama forj and easier than having to remod with water attack baguettes.
Hi everyone sorry for hijacking the thread but would the crit mod activate even if one's speed and defense are much lower than those of the opponents?
crit mods are separate from speed crits, and they can actually proc at the same time leading to 4x damage crits - "double crits"
: Thanks, that's really helpful to know :D Sorry for hijacking the thread yet again but which mod would be more useful for the 4th slot between parched and crit if I want to go against the Snow Fairy, given my stats are not evenly distributed, with strength being around 2,100 and defense around 1,900-2,000 hopefully a couple of days before she retires. My speed is around 1,500 and I have no intention to boost that atm.
I use 2 parched, 1 singed, 1 crit for everything, if freezing is still a problem, I switch the singed for a parch. 4-6 parched baguettes across two weapons per turn is pretty reliable.
thanks! The trident replaced my rapier of error, which was modded with only crit strike tears. I'm working on beating Sophie a few more times so I can get the paint brush belt as my other weapon in my set. If I use all parched baguettes on the trident, would it make sense to use all crit strike when modding the PBB?

I don't mess around with freeze happy opponents like the fairy and some others. I modded my trident with 2 parched and 2 bona. Then the syringe I modded with 2 parched and 1 bona. It may be overkill but kept me protected throughout the entire battle or may have deactivated once and reactivated the next turn so I can't be chain frozen to death.
It depends on your opponent. I use PBB when I go against crawbeast. Since I don't have an awesome dark blocker like the essence, I modded it with 2 dark def baguettes for the added dark block.
No worries, no need to send. I have most of my weapons mod with Parched (2) and Critical Strike (2) or (1). It's always nice when I double the hurt on those opponents. I do not use BoNA too often, maybe switch up on special occasions.

: Thanks, I'll make a mental note to get more parched mods when the time comes :D
NP! Also the throwback snow fairy has a lot higher speed than the BQ snow fairy I noticed (3.5k vs 1.9k). Expect a lot of crit hits from her if you have low speed.
yes and no, I like to err on the cautious side and use more parched baguettes for any opponent that can freeze, but anyone that can't, crit strikes are awesome. It depends if you're willing to risk a few losses for a chance at an easier fight. Modding with crits, you can get really lucky and win a fight you might not have been able to otherwise, but without parched you might lose a fight you otherwise would've won. Maybe try crits on the PBB first since they're cheaper and easier to get a hold of and then see how you like it. Either way is really fine though.
Having a speed of 1000 or 3000 doesn't change the rate of crit hits (unless this has changed in the last 2 or so years) against an opponent with 3500.
The rate changes on the amount of defense that you bring compared to the amount of damage the opponent is doing.
As for how to mod: If you have multiple high end constants I think it is probably better to designate one to be your heavy hitter with Singed, and a couple to be freeze proofers.
If you have more limited resources, I would say to always go for freeze protection. On average the offensive boost that singed or crit strike mods is pretty low (when used on 2 god weapons + god scroll each adds an average of about 5 icons with diminishing returns the more you use).
In general, you have to be careful with offensive mods too because many challengers block a small ammount of many icon types, so whenever you add a new icon type to your weapon, you increase the chances that your just playing into a defense and not actually adding any offensive increase to your weapons. For example Ostaff which does light earth and dark with 4 parched giving +8 water +8 fire many times probably don't add much. In contrast adding Singed Baguettes to Gelatin Concoction has a better chance at actually making a difference (fire and magma added to fire and magma)
Basically if I were to sum up my (controversial) opinion - Crit strikes are terrible, and offensive mods aren't much better, almost always go parched, unless you have extra weapons.

I thought it was an opponent that has higher speed than you,the more likely they are to crit hit. I would only assume if they had very high speed, they themselves would be protected from crit hits (unless you have critical strike mods) and could crit hit more frequently. I'll take a look at this fairy's attack though and see how it compares with the BQ fairy.
When I mod with parched, I do it for the blessing. However, it is useful on things like trident and the syringe that do water damage so it stacks. However, singed doesn't work the same way. With singed, the damage done is curse damage. It doesn't stack since it only activates with the curse but it is unblockable damage. I think singed does 8 icons? Combine that with something like the trident's curse of 16 icons and that's 24 icons your opponent can't block.
[edit] My apologies I forgot it has a fire and magma attack that does stack in addition to singed. Re-read the in depth battle guide and it talks briefly about speed and crit hits: Speed - This stat influences the critical hit system. Higher speed can increase the likelihood of critically-hitting your opponent, and decrease the likelihood of your opponent critically-hitting your pet!
It looks like speed is the only factor as nothing is mentioned under defense that higher def decreases the rate of crit hits.
