So I ordered the Deluxe edition and just got it in the mail 2 days ago. I absolutely LOVE it so far. The graphics are so pretty, and I love the soundtrack x_x. Everything is just beautiful lol.

It's such a great game, but I still pathetically miss the turn-based style that was dumped from X. sad But yeah, you get through all the feels.

So many great games coming out on PS4, and the last console I own is a PS2. ;_;

Final Fantasy is beyond far my favorite game series, ever - FFXIII being my favorite trilogy out of the bunch. I've been dying to play XV soooo bad but alas I am without a console. I can only take your word on how amazing it is.

I just got it the day after Christmas. :D I am only on chapter 2 right now. Have not had much of a chance to play it. But I absolutely loved Kingsglaive, which I would say is important before playing the game.

10 will always be my favorite. <3 It was my first FF. I am super excited for the 12 remaster coming out next year. :D 13 was bland for me. I loved the characters (except Lightning. I can't stand her. I don't vibe well with type A biatches.) I was going to play 13-2, but I moved on to other games. I heard Lightning Returns was the best one out of those, but as I cannot stand her, I'll never play it. (Even though I think I bought it, but I don't play my 360 now that I have a ps4.)

I am super excited to beat 15 though. I had been playing FFX / FFX-2 religiously before then, so I am excited for a new game. I think it will reignite my passion in the FF series.

I feel like mine is a more unpopular review, but I honestly was not that happy with the overall game. It is not that I didn't enjoy the characters, but I was extremely disappointed by the lack of depth in their stories that I'm used to receiving in the previous final fantasy titles.

I loved the graphics, music, and fighting style. Those were definitely highlights and they did very well on them. The landscape and areas including the dungeons were beautiful. I felt they were a bit easy and not as strategic, but it didn't bother me as much.

The character depth such as getting little to no background story on the main characters bothered me. Most of all with Luna I think. Even with noctis you barely had much. I'd have loved to get more of ignis' details. A major thing with final fantasy is I feel like I'm basically playing through a book. Without doing side quests you can play through this game in 25-30 hours. In previous games it was closer to 50-60. I do plan on replaying it to do much more side quests, but many of them are not really story involved anyway. I have heard there will be DLCs, but tbh I shouldn't have to purchase these to get the story lol. For a decade in the making I just expected more to the story. >:

I actually share your opinion for the most part and a lot of people think that the game mechanics and world were amazing, but the story was lacking.

A LOT of the backstory is told through other medias. You get Prompto, Ignis, Gladio and some of Noctis story through the Brotherhood anime. A lot of the political setting is told through the Kignslaive movie. I think these details should have been included in the game, if only because they actually make you care a lot more about the characters (and side medias like that should be complementary to the game, not mandatory backstories elements...)

Also the second part of the game made little sense? I had to go read online to understand a lot of what was going on and why some things happened.

And the game was so easy. I finished the game at level 39 without any trouble. There was little challenge and the last two bosses were way too easy for FF standards...

Still. The open world is worth getting the game. And the post game content is awesome (the game shines the most in post-game actually)

I completely agree with that. Tbh I loved the mechanics of the battles and was happy that Square decided to go that route. If there was more to the story/characters, it would have been perfect in my book.

I did not even know there was an anime tbh LOL I stopped watching anime ages ago since it is generally very time consuming and I don't have the time v__v too much netflix shows. I do have the movie I plan to watch soon, but I really do agree it should have been information in game as well. Not everyone will watch the movie/anime.

Agreed as well with the little sense made, and tbh I went back to do extra side quests before finishing the story since I was like "This can't be it?!?!" when I hit the final boss string. I was really hoping I just missed some side quests that somehow had all of the depth I was looking for lol that I didn't get throughout the game.

The open world is seriously amazing. Part of me is definitely more IDC about graphics if I have an amazing story which is why I loved the older FFs, Suikoden, Legend of Dragoon, and all of that awesome nostalgia from PS. But you really do have to appreciate all the beauty of what the game had to share.

I actually did not really purchase any games for 2016 this aside and maybe Fallout 4, but 2017 looks promising. I am so excited for RE Biohazard. MY SAVING GRACE FROM FF15 SADNESS.

I can't be the only one who likes to use the camera function to get up close views of the Chocobro's butts??? I literally do this every time I play (besides purposely running into them and they get pissed about it for shits and giggles)

XV was my first FF game honestly, and I loved it! The story did feel a bit lacking and rushed towards the end, but overall it was really amazing imo! I'm really looking forward to the DLC c:

I beat the game just before Christmas. Ultimately, it's a 6/10. I find myself having fun while playing but it is so incredibly flawed, I can't play for 10 minutes without a fresh complaint popping into my head. I don't regret buying it but it's amazing how often they dropped the ball.

Even though I'm usually driven by gameplay, the biggest issues for me were pacing and exposition. The way they chose to tell the story - which had potential - was just so far off the mark. When you realise you're approaching the final act, and how the game's built to that point, it's bewildering. It's the worst main game to date.

Tbh, I love the game cause it's the best meme material. I "hate" Ignis cause he reminds me of Squidward. :^)
