So I saw the other animal crossing post here was locked, but I just found my New Leaf game and am (slowly, thanks crappy internet!) updating it. Looking forward to it even though I don't have the amiibos, because who doesn't love new stuff?!

Has anyone else got the game/played the update? If so, how are you finding it? :D

Within the past couple months, I got back into playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Like you, I don't have the Amiibos. However, I just remembered that the new Wolf Link from LoZ: Twilight Princess is compatible with the game so I'm going to have to give that a try today. Honestly, I'm hoping they'll figure out a way to incorporate amiibos outside of Animal Crossing, even if it's something like getting an item of said-character to display, or clothing or something.

Amiibo aside, I do enjoy it. I'm not sure if you've heard of the details of the update or not, but they introduced a storeroom you can get for your house to store additional items. As a hoarder in the game, it has been a blessing for me!

Oh nice, let me know how it goes! I'm tempted to look into getting Amiibos for Christmas but to be honest I do forget about Animal Crossing so often that it's probably not worth it! I'm loving that it got an update though. Maybe one day they can add more Gracie collections, or more shops (I reckon that's probably a ipe dream though!).

I know the feeling, I've been playing it a bit each day recently but not sure if I'm convinced to buy the amiibos/cards/etc? And tbh, I've only passed two of Gracie's fashion tests so far haha. I always buy similar clothes so I didn't have the right stuff for whatever theme she gave me. I've started to open up to buying more clothes though, so hopefully I'll be good for the next time she returns. I swear, there's so many things to spend bells on in this game and I never have enough lol.

I know! I didn't have big expectations for the storeroom but once I got it and checked it out, I was like DANG this is exactly what I needed haha. As for other parts of the update, I paid more attention to the MEOW Coupon things/RV park area for the first week or so but then kind of trailed off on it. I mean, it's definitely a great addition to the game to give you more to do, but there's only so much I want from the new vendors. I imagine that's where the amiibo come in handy.

oh, there was an update? i haven't played in a couple of months, but i've been meaning to get back into it! it'll be something to look forward to over winter break.

Hahah oh fair enough! I don't know how I managed to pass her tests but it's worth it! Yeah I've not really explored the campsite yet but I wonder whether you can get visitors without the cards? It'd be nice. Otherwise I guess I could put it on a Christmas wishlist haha

I like the update. Don't have Amiibo's or the cards so I can't use this feature, but I'm totally enjoying the whole camping stuff (like getting seasonal Items from there) and the extra storage is absolutely amazing. Makes me wish I hadn't sold all my extra stuff that I couldn't fit into my stuffed storage before. xD

I feel like I'm too much of a total newbie to animal crossing to enjoy it completely. T__T I recently revisited my poor town and it was drowning in weeds lmao. The update sounds interesting. If I get my ds connected to a network, maybe I will consider it. :3

I bought a pack of cards and an Isabelle amiibo specifically because of the update. :x It's been fun checking out the new RV campground! The only thing I regret is that this update happened not long before the new Pokemon games... so I've started neglecting my town again. Need to check in more than once a week; I can't risk my 'keeper' villagers moving!

I can confirm from my personal experience that you do get visitors to the campsite even without having amiibo. There's a few recognizable NPCs; one that comes up to mind was the Pelican you can speak to on the beach and help him remember his intended destination, he's had an RV at the park before. I forget how many different ones I've seen, maybe 5-7? I could be off.

Oh goodness, I had the weed problem on an older Animal Crossing. It honestly makes the game a turn off to play when you literally feel like you have to do chores to make everything look nice again.

I love the update! As soon as I got it I ordered a Grizzly amiibo card and kicked out Tiffany. Woohoo! Go update!

I love animal crossing so much that I got the new leaf 3ds xl edition and my husband bought me three amiibos for christmas but my favorite is K.K. Slider :)

I have the update too. I like the new furniture items. And no I don't have amiibo either. I kind of consider amiibo to be a scam. Anyway, if they made a new animal crossing what would you want to be in it?

For me I want tyrant edition lol My favorite animals always move out and the ones I hate stay forever! With tyrant edition you're the ruler of an island. Your right hand helper person, maybe Isabelle, will tell you when a new villager is moving in and you can accept or reject them. And you can make it so your favorite villagers never leave unless you kick them out! Lol!

It's also be cool if they added it so you design a whole island and your house of course, with the ability to also move furniture in houses or move houses and stores where you want them in some kind of universal edit mode with the touchscreen.

And a crafting and cooking system would be awesome. Your friend animals could say stuff like I wish I had an apple pie for example, you could cook one for them, get a gift in return.

There'd be a new cooking ingredients store as well and crafting supplies store. And you can find ingredients and food on the ground everyday too. I guess it's kinda a harvest moon animal crossing mix.

It should let us design our villager too and it should let us be an animal if we want to!

Sorry lol I've given this a lot of thought.

I'm loving the secret storeroom! The update was a nice surprise as I still play aaaall the time lol. I'm actually looking for other towns to play with, right now!!
