(I dunno where to put this... so please move to right section if I am wrong. Thank you~)

So I've really wanted to start getting into more Podcasts and just anything with discussions, comedy, etc. I figured I'd ask here in case anyone has any to suggest. Thank you.

I'm mostly looking for anything based around this BUT if you have ANYTHING that's worth listening to, share away!

-Comedy/Humorous stories/ideas -History (can also be funny or very informative) -Discussions that don't go one-sided and aren't political -People offering advice for writing/healthy living/etc.

Thanks so much~ I'm excited to get into this sort of thing!

So I also recently got into podcasts because I have chronic migraines and often all I can really do is lay still in the dark so I put them on quietly and listen to them on my headphones. I've found a couple good ones in the categories you mentioned, so I'll share and would appreciate recommendations likewise!

Comedy/Humor No Such Thing As A Fish - If you've ever seen the British panel show QI (highly recommend if you haven't, it's on youtube), this podcast is made by the researchers for that show, called "elves". Each week the four main elves bring one fact that they found interesting that week and then they all discuss and give related facts and it's also quite funny. They're also currently doing a tv show (Short series) of topical facts called No Such Thing As The News which comes out Fridays on YouTube.

History and related topics Lore - a major favorite of mine and has been really popular lately. Well researched, often a bit eerie or creepy, but really fascinating. Revisionist History - Malcolm Gladwell gives his take on various phenomena of recent history Myths and Legends - One of my favorites to listen to at bedtime, a telling and dissection of many famous myths, fairy tales, legends, and folk tales and discussion of them. Both informative and entertaining. Unexplained - Okay, obviously I'm a creep, haha, I like kinda spooky stuff. This one is a British guy who uses each episode to explore a creepy topic from history. For example, one episode was about a secluded lighthouse on an island who's three keepers mysteriously vanished. Others are about ghosts and such. You Must Remember This - A really well done look at topics relating to the people and events in "the first 100 years of Hollywood history". It really does span most of the 20th century. Some of the episodes I've enjoyed were about Theda Bara, Charlin Chaplin's politics, and Charles Manson's influence on Hollywood. The Memory Palace - You have to check this one out to get it, just trust me on this. My favorite episode is called "Dreamland", but some other great ones are "The Rush of the River, The Roar of the Falls", and "Mary Walker Would Wear What She Wanted". It's great because the episodes are relatively short (10-15 minutes usually). Without giving too much info, because I really think it's better for you to discover yourself, the narrator will really make you feel like you're first hand experiencing different times and places in history. Put it on, close your eyes, and let your imagination go to town. The Past and The Curious - Fairly new, there's only a few episodes so far, but they cover a variety of related topics in each episode and it's very interesting. Sidedoor - more current events related than history really, but it's put out by the Smithsonian and there's only a few episodes so far.

Discussion Harry Potter and The Sacred Text - This one is really interesting to me and I've been enjoying it so far. It's from two people with degrees in Divinity and each week they dissect a chapter of the Harry Potter books. I know, it sounds weird, but if you like Potter it's really relaxing and makes you look at the books differently. The show isn't religious at all and they're not like worshipping Dumbledore or something. Instead, they look at the chapter through the eyes of different values, discuss a lot about minor characters, and use tactics learned in divinity school that people might use in Bible Study classes, for example, to take apart the text and find deeper meaning and subtext. 99% Invisible - I haven't listened to much of this one yet, but I think it's really interesting. It's about all the things in our world that affect our lives, but we don't actually pay much attention to. Imaginary Worlds - an interesting look at pop culture themes, especially in the realms of sci-fi and fantasy.

Let me know if you like Dramas/storytelling type stuff, I have a couple recommendations there. I would highly recommend one called The Truth which is each week a different story acted out. They're not too long, good for a car ride or something. My favorite episode is called "Dark Matter".

I've also been really into true crime podcasts lately, in the vein of Serial. And creepy stories, haha.

Hope that helps, would love to chat more about any of these if you listen to them.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you like any. I'm always looking for new ones because I've been sick a lot lately and I find some of them relaxing and others are engaging and entertaining which really alleviates my boredom (or, distracts me from school work, haha!)

Hey, so I am not so sure if you would really be interested in it, but I have recently been watching/listening to the H3H3 Podcasts and am loving them so far.

They're not exactly new, not exactly old. They talk about...anything really.

Ethan and Hila cover topics that are circulating on the Interwebz, but sometimes it just seems more like they're just chatting.

Anyway, I recommend this one. If you try it, lemme know what you think!
